The next morning, Miya grabbed the corner of the blanket and flung it up. Shin-chan rolled onto the floor along with his pajamas like a scoop of ice cream.
"Get up."
Shin-chan curled into a ball on the floor, his eyes still closed as he mumbled indistinctly.
"Let me sleep a little longer----"
"No." Miya placed a letter in front of him. "Your classmate brought this."
Shin-chan opened his eyes a crack.
A pink envelope lay on the floor.
"A classmate?" Shin-chan sat up.
"A brown-haired girl." Miya thought for a moment.
"Rin?"
"I think that was her name." Miya turned and headed for the kitchen. "Such a polite child."
Shin-chan unfolded the letter. The handwriting on it was neat and tidy.

I heard you completed a C-Rank Mission. Congratulations!
A few of us talked it over and wanted to celebrate with you.
Obito said we absolutely had to invite you, and Might Guy said he hadn't seen you in ages, too.

Shin-chan called toward the kitchen.
"She says we're having a get-together to celebrate finishing our mission."
Miya poked her head out of the kitchen. "When?"
"After School."
"Then are you going?"
Shin-chan thought about it again. "Yeah."
Rin would be there. Might Guy would be there. Obito would be there too.
He hadn't seen them in a long time. When was the last time they met?
He thought about it, but couldn't remember.
Whatever. He would see them today anyway.
When Shin-chan arrived at Namikaze Minato's apartment, the door was unlocked.
He pushed it open and poked his head inside.
"Morning." Namikaze Minato sat at the table, several scrolls covered in technique diagrams spread out before him.
