Dugu Yang pursued poison-based Soul Skills and gained strength through Spirit Rings, a Spirit Bone, and the Emerald Poison Dragon’s power. He concealed his new abilities and entered the arena to test them against Wang Hao.

• Dugu Yang chose a six-hundred-year Tree Poison Toad for his First Spirit Ring and gained Poison Sac after purifying its remnant soul.
• Dugu Yang defeated Dugu Yan with Jade Phosphor Scorpion Poison and chose Aromatic Silk Beauty, then spent a year absorbing poisons while pursuing his Ultimate Poison plan.

Dugu Yang advanced from an unusually powerful academy newcomer to a Four-ring Soul Ancestor while helping Dugu Yan and pursuing the evolution of their Martial Souls. The arc ended with Dugu Yang and Dugu Yan leaving for the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Eye so she could obtain her Third Soul Ring.

• Dugu Yang defeated Wang Hao with poison at the Soul Battle Arena, drawing attention from Xue Qinghe and Qian Renxue, who considered recruiting him.
• After researching Lycoris radiata, Dugu Yang absorbed its Ten Thousand Year Spirit Ring, gained Harmonization, and spent two years developing Mixed Poisons.
• Dugu Yang and Dugu Yan enrolled at Heaven Dou Royal Academy, where his level 39 Soul Power at age eleven stunned the students and academy leaders.
• During the New Student Trial, Dugu Yang killed a Thousand Year Man Faced Demon Spider, defeated Yu Tianheng, and led his team to first place.

Dugu Yang helped Dugu Yan awaken her dragon bloodline, then trained with Heaven Dou Royal Academy as its students hunted Spirit Rings. After Yu Tianheng defeated Feng Xiaotian, Qin Ming arranged a supervised hunt involving students from three academies and called Dugu Yang to help.

• Dugu Bo told Dugu Yan that Dugu Yang’s blood had helped prepare a pill to awaken her dragon bloodline, and Dugu Yan absorbed a Black Scale Poison Flood Dragon’s Spirit Ring.
• Dugu Yan gained a stronger, clawed right arm and a new poison-based skill, while she and Dugu Yang vowed to win the next tournament for Heaven Dou Royal Academy.
• Dugu Yang challenged Heaven Dou Royal Academy’s seven reserve students and defeated them, using his poison abilities to overcome their coordinated attacks.
• Qin Ming led the reserve team into Star Dou Forest, where Yu Tianheng and the Shi Brothers drove away a Dreadclaw Bear and Dugu Yang protected the group from a Sword-Tailed Tyrannosaurus.
• Osler absorbed a Shadow Leopard Spirit Ring and Yufeng gained a Lightning Falcon Spirit Ring, while Dugu Yang helped both students during their hunts.
