Harley was about to ask Professor Snape for some more pointers when, all of a sudden, the Great Hall filled with glowing green smoke.
Harley and Professor Snape both jumped in fright. When they looked up, they saw that the Great Hall had somehow descended into chaos.
Quite a few younger students weren't using magic at all. They were grappling with one another instead.
Among the few groups using magic, Seamus was kneeling and begging Neville not to die. It seemed he had blasted the stage floor in front of Neville and injured him.
Ron and Malfoy had somehow ended up paired together. One was laughing maniacally, while the other's legs danced of their own accord. Their hands were clasped tightly together, and their wands lay at their feet.
If not for the murderous glares they were giving each other, Harley might have thought they were dancing.
As for the older students, they were going at it even more fiercely. Two Slytherins had tiny tentacles sprouting all over their bodies, and a Gryffindor had leeks poking out of his nostrils.
How utterly brutal!
Professor Lockhart was hopping around in the crowd, shouting:
"Get up, Ernie, you can do it!
Easy now, Daisy. Pinch your nose tight, and your nosebleed will stop any second.
And Malfoy, Ron, perhaps you two can summon the willpower to stop this... ballroom dancing?"
