Harley had a bit of a toothache and a headache. From Hagrid's words, it was clear he was probably planning some kind of stunt for the very first lesson.
But that wasn't important to Harley right now.
What mattered more was—
Hagrid, what are you planning to do to Black?!
After seeing the image that had appeared in the Magic Mirror that morning, Harley was certain that there was something wrong with that big black dog.
If she wasn't mistaken, he was most likely an Animagus.
What on earth was Hagrid doing, taking such an interesting Animagus and using him to breed Half-blood dogs?!
Harley hurriedly came up with the first excuse she could think of to change Hagrid's mind.
"Hagrid, I'll be honest with you. Black is the product of a magical experiment, which is why he's such an unusual size."
"So you can't use him as the father of the dogs you're breeding. After all, Black... he's infertile!"
Hagrid first froze, then looked thoroughly disappointed. "That's true."
"I should've realized. A magnificent dog like him must have some kind of special magic about him. He might even be a magical creation himself. Looks like I'll have to think of something else."
Harley wiped away a cold sweat and gave herself a pat on the back for her quick thinking.
At last, the bell rang. Once everyone had arrived, Hagrid waved his big hands.
"Is everyone here? If anyone's missing, speak up!"
"Brilliant, looks like everyone's here. Follow me!"
"For our first lesson of the year, I'm going to show you something wonderful! I promise you, this lesson is going to be absolutely brilliant."
Malfoy sneered, hoping to embarrass Hagrid.
But Hagrid seemed too excited to hear him.
