In the compartment, Hermione was scribbling on a sheet of paper while flipping through her textbooks and reviewing this term's coursework.
Thanks to the Six-Wizard Tournament, Hermione had spent the previous term studying alongside Harley and Fleur.
As a result, she had gained a great deal. Not only had her practical magical abilities improved dramatically, but she was also far ahead of her peers in several theory courses with practical value.

"And it only gets used maybe twice a term. What a waste."
As she spoke, Harley shifted her body and found a more comfortable position.
"Let me rest for a bit. Patrol duty exhausted me."
"Oh, cut it out." Hermione casually brushed Harley's hair aside.
"Don't keep pressing down on just one of my legs. You'll make it go numb. And stop interrupting my revision."
"What if I insist on interrupting?"
One moment Harley was lying on the bench; the next, she was sitting beside Hermione, her chin lightly resting on Hermione's shoulder as she stared solemnly at the table.
"This stuff... didn't you finish learning it right at the start
