Around three o'clock in the afternoon, Harley returned her borrowed books to the dormitory.
She politely declined Hermione, who wanted to invite her to stay in the library to read, and also turned down Lavender and Parvati, who had invited her to watch the boys play Wizard's Chess.
Afterward, Harley went alone to Hagrid's residence, a small wooden hut located on the edge of the Forbidden Forest.
It was called a small wooden hut, but considering Hagrid's height of three and a half meters, this house could hardly be called small.
When Harley knocked on the door of the hut, a burst of barking sounded from inside.
Then, Hagrid's booming voice rang out: "Back, Fang!"
Following that, the door of the hut was opened. Hagrid's rugged, large face appeared behind the door.
"Welcome, Harley!" Hagrid said loudly, "The last time I saw you, you were just a little baby.
Now you've grown into a big girl. You look just like your mother! Except for the color of your hair, which is more like your father's."
Harley nodded silently: "Hello, Hagrid. Did you have something you wanted to see me about today?"
"Nothing in particular, just wanted to have a chat." Hagrid said with a smile, scratching the back of his head, "Your parents and I were good friends back in the day, so I wanted to check in on their child."
As he spoke, Hagrid seemed to realize something and stepped back two paces:
"Come in and talk, Harley! Come and try my freshly baked Rock Cake."
Afterward, the two entered the house and sat down.
It is worth mentioning that Hagrid's chair was a bit high. After all, it was a chair custom-made for his three-and-a-half-meter height.
And Harley was only one meter forty, not even reaching Hagrid's waist.
Fortunately, Harley possessed the light-footed movement techniques of an Assassin, otherwise, she might not have been able to get onto the chair at all.
Hagrid turned to prepare drinks and "dessert" for Harley, taking the opportunity to ask: "Harley, would you like some tea? Or maybe some milk?"
"A cup of sweet iced tea will do." Harley replied subconsciously, then immediately corrected herself, "No, I mean, some sweet black tea is fine."
While Hagrid was busy preparing, Harley activated her Spirit Vision and scanned the hut.
Upon entering this hut, Harley had felt the presence of extremely strong spirituality in the surroundings.
So, Harley subconsciously activated her Spirit Vision and was stunned by what she saw.
Hagrid was truly extravagant!
Wherever Harley's gaze landed, a large amount of materials shimmered with the radiance of spirituality.
Several bundles of dirty hair hanging from the ceiling possessed particularly intense condensed spirituality, making them perfect for crafting binding-type magical items.
And the herbs in the bottles on Hagrid's windowsill, along with the various feathers in the baskets, were clearly not ordinary objects either.
By now, Harley had already recognized a pile of valuable materials, including Face Rose, Hornbeam, and Yarn Grass.
What does it mean to be rich? This is what it means to be rich! Hagrid was the true tycoon!
Moreover, she was surprised to discover that, if she hadn't misidentified them, those few red feathers were the tail feathers of a Firestone Bird, and the bottles next to them contained Crystalline Sun Flower and Singing Sunflower.
If she could find Midsummer Grass and Elf Dark Leaf, and then brew the sap of July Wine herself, Harley could even craft the potion for the Sequence 9 Bard of the Sun Pathway right here!
"No." Harley shook her head silently, refuting her own thoughts, "In the world of Sequence Pathways, it was because those plants contained Beyonder characteristics that they could be used to brew the corresponding sequence potions.
But these plants in this world might just look similar; they likely don't contain the corresponding Beyonder characteristics, or perhaps the characteristics they contain are different.
So, brewing them directly would likely only result in failure...
But... what if it really could be brewed?
If the Firestone Bird really exists in this world, does that mean the Calamity Bird exists too?
Is my path truly not broken, and do I still have a chance to advance to a Calamity Witch?"
An inexplicable light flashed in Harley's eyes, but in the end, everything returned to calm.
Regardless, there was no opportunity to consider so much right now. She could only take things one step at a time.
She also needed to finish reading those books assigned by Professor Snape as soon as possible.
It was originally just an unintentional act, but she hadn't expected Harley to truly see hope!
Hagrid soon brought over the Rock Cake and black tea with a large amount of sugar added.
However, after tasting a piece of the Rock Cake, Harley sensibly put down the thing that could be used as a brick.
Hagrid began to chat loudly with Harley about her parents, repeatedly emphasizing how similar Harley was to her mother.
Harley smiled and kept the conversation going, subtly guiding the topic toward the various professors in the school, letting Hagrid introduce their skills to her.
Under Harley's constant responses, Hagrid's enthusiasm for the chat grew even higher.
And Harley grew increasingly fond of chatting with this big guy, because his discretion was truly poor, and important information would slip out from his words from time to time.
Finally, it was getting dark outside, and Hagrid realized that he had been talking for too long.
"It's getting late, Harley, I should take you back." Hagrid said, looking as if he still had more to say, "You're welcome to come and chat with me anytime!"
"Of course, I'd be happy to." Harley stood up, then glanced toward the windowsill as if by chance.
"Hagrid, what are those things you have on your window?"
"Oh, just some worthless little trinkets." Hagrid waved his large hand, speaking with indifference.
"They're all things I found in the Forbidden Forest; they aren't worth anything at all."
Harley blinked, unable to tell for a moment whether Hagrid was showing off his wealth or if he truly didn't know the value of these items.
"Then, Hagrid, could you give me some?
I really love Potions, and Professor Snape has even promised to teach me a bit more.
But I'm afraid the money my parents left me won't be enough for practice." Harley said, looking pitiful.
Hagrid nodded repeatedly at once: "Of course you can, Harley!
You're just like your mother! She loved Potions too!
If you're ever short on any herbs, just come find me; you can find almost any herb you need in the Forbidden Forest."
After a brief moment of thought, Hagrid waved his large hand again:
"Harley, I had originally intended to pick you up on July 31st, your birthday, but unfortunately, that job was taken over by Professor Dumbledore in the end.
So, I haven't given you a birthday present yet.
How about this: you pick out whatever potion ingredients you want from my hut as your birthday gift."
Harley suppressed the joy in her heart, thanked Hagrid obediently, and then began selecting the herbs that would be most useful to her.
Red-haired Fir bark, and Psychedelic Grass! The essential oil for the ritual's Psychedelic Grass is finally sorted.
Wow, there's even Poison Hemlock! With this, I can make at least two more Magic Mirrors.
Relying only on a wand, my means of self-preservation are still too limited.
Harley scavenged a batch of materials before leaving Hagrid's hut, feeling completely satisfied.
Hagrid didn't mind at all; these materials were abundant in the Forbidden Forest anyway, and they were of no use to him just sitting there.
If he could help Harley, Hagrid would naturally be incredibly happy.
