Announcement: Amon Removed

I removed Amon.

Although I didn't think writing this character had any major turnoffs, a lot of people said it did.

Honestly, I felt pretty good about it myself. I wanted to use this character to connect the HP and Lord of the Mysteries worlds and expand the setting.

At the same time, Amon would help the protagonist obtain the Uniqueness of the Demoness Pathway, trick Cheek to death, deal with Medici as well—Amon and Medici didn't get along—contain the Uniqueness of two Pathways, and become a Great Old One with the City of Calamity.

As for the gender I once wrote for Amon, as an Angel, he had no gender to begin with. He had even appeared in the forms of various animals before, so I didn't think making him female was a problem.

As for why I designed a female Amon and how I planned to make that logic work, I had ideas for that too.

I wanted to write that Amon himself created a special avatar through an avatar voting conference.

After all, there was precedent for it. He had deceived even his own avatars and held avatar voting conferences before.

(The incident where he deceived his avatars was in the original work, when Pallez Zoroast, an Angel of the Marauder Pathway, urged the other members of the Hermits of Fate to explore the Jacob family's treasure. Amon said it himself.

He said that he had devoured the Jacob family's ancestor in the Fourth Epoch and left a sleeping avatar inside that treasure.

None of his other avatars knew that information. So Pallez Zoroast said that his loss was not unjustified—after all, Amon even deceived his own avatars.)

Back to the point, Amon created a special avatar in order to capture Harley.

After all, during that period—before and at the beginning of the war between Evernight and the God of Combat—his main attention was on Klein, and most of his power had been dispersed.

So Amon needed a special avatar, along with Harley's records from when she was Sequence 6, to use a female avatar to lure Harley in.

And in order to deceive Harley more effectively, that avatar was set to absolutely love her, while its strength had only just reached the demigod level.

In the end, that avatar passed through Mr. Door's door with Harley and rebelled after getting far from the main body. Avatars could rebel; there was precedent for that, though I forgot where it was in the original work. Anyway, because of that incident, Klein carefully kept control over even his Spirit Worms.

In the end, Harley helped that avatar devour a Sequence 2-level Amon in reverse. The timeline matched the ending.

There were plenty of other settings too. I wrote several thousand words about this in my outline. But since so many readers found it off-putting, I removed it. After all, he had only appeared twice so far, in just over a hundred words.

And it was true that having two transmigrators in this kind of return story did seem like a major turnoff. It also made many parts feel too deliberate.

Besides, Amon's image in the original work did lean male, even though I found a really great picture of a female Amon.

Turning him female really wasn't very friendly to many readers who came because of Lord of the Mysteries.

Then let him disappear. Honestly, I had originally wanted to write some very interesting side stories about the female avatar and Harley.

As for the earlier chapters, I revised them too. There were only two chapters anyway. I changed Amon's influence on the Sorting Hat into Professor Dumbledore's.

Today's chapter will be a little later, but there will definitely be two updates. The next two chapters were both about Amon. I had originally finished writing the part where a mature woman in black stockings teased a little Witch in pink. What a pity. Now I have to rewrite them.
