Getting back to the point, if one wanted to attack a major ninja village, one either launched a direct surprise attack or used a powerful ninjutsu to blast it into the sky in a single strike.
As for doing something as stupid as bringing a large army to besiege a ninja village during a Shinobi World War, that was almost impossible.
Thus, Iwagakure's so-called strongest defense had basically served no purpose beyond obstructing its own transportation.
After the group crossed the long mountain path and finally arrived at Iwa Village's entrance, they saw a ninja standing before the gate. He was around six feet tall and dressed in the Tsuchikage's ceremonial robe.
