2012 Orlando All-Star (Part 2)

"Goodwin, I knew you'd be here!" Goodwin and Paul Pierce had been training in the gym for nearly an hour when a familiar voice suddenly rang out.

Goodwin stopped what he was doing and turned toward the voice. It was Carmelo Anthony.

"Carmelo, long time no see." Goodwin greeted him, then resumed his workout.

Carmelo Anthony did not immediately return Goodwin's greeting. Instead, he greeted Paul Pierce first.

Paul Pierce responded politely as well. Though the two were not particularly familiar with each other, they were at least acquaintances.

Afterward, Paul Pierce quietly closed his mouth and returned his focus to his own training, leaving the two of them some space.

Carmelo Anthony walked straight over to Goodwin, plopped down on the floor, propped his chin on his hand, and said, "Goodwin, you really work too hard. You still have time to train during All-Star weekend."

Goodwin smiled faintly and replied, "Can't help it. I'm still going after my fifth championship. Unlike you, still fighting for your first."

Those words were like a small knife giving Carmelo Anthony a little stab.

For a moment, Carmelo Anthony was speechless. Then he gave a helpless smile. "Goodwin, you did that on purpose, didn't you? You bastard."

"Hahaha, I just like telling the truth," Goodwin said with a laugh.

Pfft... Paul Pierce, who was nearby, could not help laughing out loud.

The two chatted idly, and eventually their conversation turned to the upcoming All-Star Game. Carmelo Anthony said with a grin, "Goodwin, are you confident this year? You guys in the East got crushed pretty badly the last two years."

For the previous two years, Carmelo Anthony had still represented the West in the All-Star Game.
