After the game, Goodwin began watching the recordings of the San Antonio Spurs' previous games that he had gotten from the assistant coach.

So far this season, the San Antonio Spurs had posted an 8-3 record, ranking second in the Western Conference.

In their previous game, the San Antonio Spurs had lost to the Los Angeles Clippers 87-92, falling by just five points.

After watching that game, Goodwin believed the reason for the loss was simple: first, the San Antonio Spurs' formidable perimeter defender, Kawhi Leonard, had not played; second, the Los Angeles Clippers' bench players had performed exceptionally well, scoring a combined 48 points.

Even so, Goodwin still did not consider the Los Angeles Clippers one of their potential rivals.

The reason was simple: the Los Angeles Clippers did not have a go-to scorer capable of deciding a game in the clutch.

Although they had Chris Paul, widely acknowledged by the league as an elite point guard, Goodwin felt that Paul was too small, making it extremely difficult for him to score at critical moments.

Besides Chris Paul, the Los Angeles Clippers also had Blake Griffin.

However, Griffin often disappeared in crucial moments. This was mainly because he lacked a reliable way to break through an opponent's defense, weakening his impact in the clutch.

DeAndre Jordan, who had joined the Los Angeles Clippers this season, had also played quite well, averaging 11.5 points, 13.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 2.5 blocks per game, providing the team with tremendous help.

Just like in this game, DeAndre Jordan went 5-for-8 and recorded a double-double of 13 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 blocks, helping his team defeat the San Antonio Spurs.
