"The Four Divine Beasts Clan wants that Five-Colored Blood Crystal. Hand it over."
Emmanuel raised his eyelids and spoke to Ninisha, his tone utterly indifferent.
Unlike Wurnisen, Emmanuel didn't know Ninisha. After all, Ninisha had only become famous in Hell a million years ago. People on the Zijing Continent knew of her, but an outsider from the Bloodridge Continent like Emmanuel wouldn't know about her unless he'd made a point of keeping tabs on her.
Naturally, Emmanuel had no intention of investigating her identity. In his view, no one the Four Divine Beasts Clan couldn't afford to provoke would be here.
If he hadn't been worried she might have a Divine Clone elsewhere, making her Spatial Ring impossible to open, Emmanuel would have attacked her outright. As far as he was concerned, anyone who would fight over an item like this was at most a Six-Star Fiend.
"Sorry, Elder Emmanuel, but I can't give you this."
Ninisha frowned slightly, then calmly refused his demand.
She had already promised Dili, so she wasn't willing to hand over something she'd obtained. Besides, Emmanuel's attitude made her uncomfortable. Though he belonged to a Sovereign clan, she wasn't willing to let a Seven-Star Fiend elder order her, an Asura, to hand something over.
As for whether this would offend the Four Divine Beasts Clan, Ninisha wasn't worried. At least in her view, even if the clan was powerful and overbearing, it wouldn't make an enemy of an Asura over such a minor matter.
"You—you said what?"
At Ninisha's words, Emmanuel's eyes widened. He almost thought he'd misheard her. He couldn't remember how many years it had been since anyone had refused him, and fury surged through him in an instant.
"Good, very good! No one's dared to humiliate me like this in years! Since that's how it is, then die!"
A murderous glint flashed in Emmanuel's eyes. He moved his right hand, and divine power surged within him as an icy-blue sword shadow instantly formed and shot toward Ninisha.
Bang!
Ninisha furrowed her brows. She hadn't expected Emmanuel to attack without warning. A purple glint flashed in her eyes, and two translucent beams shot out, turning into streaks of lightning that devoured the blue sword shadow.
"Hm? You!"
Emmanuel's expression shifted slightly. He let go of some of his contempt and stared at Ninisha with narrowed eyes.
His attack hadn't been at full strength, but it still wasn't something an ordinary Six-Star Fiend could block. The purple-haired woman before him had stopped it with ease. She was clearly a Seven-Star Fiend, and might even be as strong as he was.
"Elder Emmanuel, aren't you being a little too overbearing?"
Ninisha's voice turned colder. Emmanuel's attitude struck her as absurd. He was only a Seven-Star Fiend elder, yet he was even more arrogant than Leisijing, the son of the Zijing Sovereign.
Though Ninisha had been in Hell for two million years, she'd only heard about the Four Divine Beasts Clan. She had no firsthand understanding of how overbearing the clan was, nor how unreasonable its members could be.
So when Emmanuel made his outrageous demand, she'd thought it over and refused. First, she had already promised Dili and didn't want to break her word.
Second, she felt she'd been quite polite. She was an Asura and a Sovereign Envoy; surely an elder of the Four Divine Beasts Clan wouldn't fall out with her over such a minor matter.
But Emmanuel's next move made Ninisha's eyes narrow.
"So you're a Seven-Star Fiend. But even as a Seven-Star Fiend, you can't challenge the Four Divine Beasts Clan!"
Emmanuel's expression darkened further. He cut Ninisha off and instantly transformed, his body covered in green dragon scales as he drew upon a drop of green liquid within him.
Boom~~
In an instant, Emmanuel's aura changed. His already terrifying presence surged, and a green glow enveloped his body as the Water Sovereign Power within him began to rage.
In Emmanuel's view, he represented the Four Divine Beasts Clan. A mere Seven-Star Fiend had dared to refuse him, so she deserved to die. And with the vast amount of Sovereign's Might bestowed on him by his clan, he could briefly stand against even an ordinary Asura. He had no reason to worry about whether he could kill her.
"You're actually using Sovereign's Might?"
Ninisha's eyes filled with confusion. She couldn't understand Emmanuel's way of thinking. How had refusing him become a challenge to the Four Divine Beasts Clan? Were all its members like this?
But the next moment, a murderous glint appeared in Ninisha's purple eyes. No matter how good-tempered someone was, they wouldn't stay pleasant when someone kept trying to kill them.
"Die!"
Emmanuel vanished in an instant. Empowered by Sovereign's Might, the phantom of a green dragon claw descended from above toward Ninisha's head. The surrounding space rumbled and slowly shattered.
"Hmph!"
Ninisha snorted. She flipped her right hand, and a long spear wreathed in lightning appeared. She merely lifted it slightly, and purple lightning flickered.
Bang!
With a tremendous collision, Emmanuel shot away like a streak of light. The dragon scales covering his body shattered, and red blood dripped from him.
"How is this possible? Th-this is a Sovereign Artifact?"
Emmanuel's face turned deathly pale. His eyes were full of terror as he stared at Ninisha. He never would have imagined she was powerful enough to possess a Sovereign Artifact.
Everyone in the divine planes who possessed a Sovereign Artifact was an Asura, without exception. Even the clan leader, Gaislesen, might not be able to defeat someone of that level. And he'd actually attacked an Asura with a Sovereign Artifact?
"Elder Emmanuel, let's end this here."
Ninisha gripped her spear, a trace of coldness flashing in her eyes, and spoke in a low voice.
"Miss, I was in the wrong today. Please spare my life for the sake of the Four Divine Beasts Clan."
Emmanuel's expression shifted repeatedly as he suppressed his anger and murderous intent. Dragging his bleeding dragon claw, he secretly sent her a message.
For the first time, Emmanuel truly felt the threat of death. He no longer cared about the clan's honor or whether he'd insulted it. He only wanted to preserve his strongest Divine Clone. But what Kedun said behind him nearly made him spit blood.
"You dare attack an elder of the Four Divine Beasts Clan? How bold! I'll report this to the clan leader. The clan will never let you get away with it! Elder Emmanuel, fight her for the honor of the clan!"
Standing behind Emmanuel, Kedun's eyes widened, murder plain in his gaze. He shouted at Emmanuel, then charged toward Ninisha, vastly overestimating himself.
"Is that so? Then you can both die!"
Ninisha coldly glanced at Emmanuel and Kedun. The spear in her hand trembled slightly, letting out a rumble like thunder. A streak of golden light surged from it, becoming a lightning serpent that charged at the two men.
"No, no, no! You can't kill me! If you kill me, the clan leader won't let you—"
Emmanuel's words stopped halfway. In a sea of golden lightning, the two men were reduced to dust and slowly vanished into the world.
"This... this..."
Wurnisen and the others were completely dumbfounded. They had never imagined they would witness the death of a Seven-Star Fiend elder of the Four Divine Beasts Clan. They felt a chill run through them.
Whoosh!
A blue streak of light appeared on the horizon, then quickly took shape as Dili. Feeling the lingering fluctuations of Sovereign's Might, she couldn't help frowning.
"Ninisha, who did you just fight? Did your opponent use Sovereign's Might?"
Dili asked, puzzled. The lingering energy in the air was the Water Sovereign Power. Since Ninisha had no Sovereign's Might, Dili guessed that her opponent had used it.
"That's right. Emmanuel of the Four Divine Beasts Clan tried to seize the Five-Colored Blood Crystal. I killed him."
Ninisha calmly put away her Sovereign Artifact spear and spoke in an even tone.
"What did you say? You killed Emmanuel?"
Dili's voice suddenly rose several octaves, and she even felt her vision go dark.
