Creating Friends Out of Thin Air

"Eat your noodles. Weren't you hungry just now? Just looking at them won't fill your stomach," Su Chen said with a smile.

Yan Bingxue nodded and picked up her chopsticks to eat.

She took a bite of the noodles, and her eyes immediately brightened.

Delicious!

The noodles Su Chen made were truly amazing!

The noodles were cooked to perfection, chewy and firm. The shredded meat and green onions added fragrance to the clear broth, and as it mixed in her stomach, a wave of warmth surged through her.

Her empty stomach seemed to have instantly found a source of energy, desperately crying out, "I want more, I want more~"

"How does it taste?" Su Chen asked.

Yan Bingxue immediately nodded. "It's delicious! Even better than what the housekeeper makes at home!"

"Su Chen, your cooking skills are really incredible!"

After dinner, Su Chen sat beside her, watching her eat and chatting about Tuantuan and Lele winning awards.

As Yan Bingxue ate her noodles, she listened to Su Chen talk about receiving public praise at his children's kindergarten. She couldn't help but be a little surprised.

She knew Su Chen was good at handicrafts, but she hadn't expected him to mention something so seemingly childish with such pride and happiness.

It seemed he genuinely enjoyed attending kindergarten events as Tuantuan and Lele's parent.

Yan Bingxue had initially worried that when Su Chen met the children, Tuantuan and Lele would be three years old. She feared that despite being their closest family, they might feel distant due to not having spent time together, much like how Lele had always been a bit awkward around Su Chen.

But Su Chen didn't seem to feel that way. He quickly adapted to the role of a father and was doing even better than she had imagined!

"And then what? Did anything else interesting happen after you took Tuantuan and Lele home tonight?" Yan Bingxue couldn't help but ask proactively.

For the first time, she inwardly complained about her demanding job.

She used to be a workaholic, always prioritizing work above everything else. It was only after Tuantuan and Lele arrived that she started trying to balance work and family.

But today, hearing Su Chen talk about his time with the babies, she felt a pang of regret that she hadn't been there!

It was truly magical!

"After that? I brought them back and made them a big meal. Lele ate three bowls of rice today~ Tuantuan ate two bowls. I made five or six dishes plus soup, and they almost finished everything."

"These two little ones sure can eat~" Su Chen said with a smile.

Yan Bingxue looked at him in shock. "You cooked dinner for the children? Where's the housekeeper? Why didn't she prepare anything?"

"I told her not to. I was picking up the kids, and you weren't home, so it was just the three of us. I decided to cook for them myself."

"I haven't spent much time with the babies yet, so I have to seize the opportunity to get closer to them. As the saying goes, to capture a person's heart, you must first capture their stomach. If the babies love the food I make, it's the first step to them loving me!"

Yan Bingxue listened to his words in surprise and couldn't help but glance at the bowl of noodles in front of her.

Yan Bingxue's cheeks flushed slightly. She quickly lowered her head to eat, not daring to meet Su Chen's eyes.

Her mind was a whirlwind of emotions – happy and excited, yet tinged with a bit of doubt, afraid she had misinterpreted his intentions.

Seeing her eat so quickly, Su Chen smiled and said, "Eat slowly, no one's going to snatch it away from you~"

As soon as he finished speaking, Yan Bingxue happened to choke on a mouthful of soup and quickly covered her mouth, coughing lightly.

Su Chen handed her a tissue and gently patted her back.

He said with amusement, "I've noticed that while you appear to be a cool, powerful CEO on the outside, in private, you're not much different from Tuantuan and Lele. When there's good food, you immediately forget about being serious~"

"Is my cooking so good that you can't stop eating?"

Yan Bingxue had actually been jolted by his previous remark, causing her to choke on some soup. She had recovered after a couple of coughs, but then Su Chen said that, and she choked on her own saliva again, this time much harder, her face turning red from coughing.

Su Chen! What is he even saying!

These are practically suggestive remarks!

Yan Bingxue didn't know if he was doing it intentionally or not, as the phrase was so full of double meaning.

"You… you cough cough… Shut up! Stop talking! Cough cough cough…"

Su Chen blinked in surprise. As a seasoned straightforward man, he instantly realized what the problem was.

However, he had just said it casually and hadn't expected the cute Yan Bingxue to misunderstand.

"Hahaha!" Su Chen suddenly burst out laughing. Looking at Yan Bingxue, who had stopped coughing but was still flushed, he said, "I didn't realize our children's mother wasn't solely focused on work during the day. You know a lot of trendy knowledge! This car isn't going to the kindergarten!"

Yan Bingxue glared at him playfully. "You're still talking!"

"I didn't say anything; I was just stating facts. You're the one who reminded me, hahaha~" Su Chen couldn't suppress his laughter.

"I didn't say anything; it's your mind that's the problem! I'm full, I'm going to take a bath~" Yan Bingxue said, then pushed her bowl away, stood up, and walked towards the bathroom with feigned composure.

As soon as she entered the room, she immediately closed the door and, annoyed, lightly tapped her head with her fist.

"Yan Bingxue, what are you thinking about?!"

"How could you say something like that, and let Su Chen see through it!"

"This is too embarrassing!"

"Does Su Chen think I'm an experienced driver?"

"Actually... I don't know anything!"

"This is so annoying!"

Yan Bingxue took her clothes and phone into the bathroom. She filled the bathtub with water and then threw herself into it. A bath could relieve her fatigue.

However, while bathing, she had nothing to do and her mind was filled with what had just happened.

She worried that Su Chen would think she was... a girl who knew a lot, and might even misunderstand that she had similar driving experiences before. She felt flustered and agitated.

So, she took out her phone and continued chatting with Gu Yuxin.

Yan Bingxue: "Ms. Gu, I need to ask you something."

Gu Yuxin was someone who always had her phone in hand, and she replied to messages almost instantly.

Gu Yuxin: "Oh~ Finished your noodles? You finally remembered you have a bestie!"

Yan Bingxue: "Serious business! I've got my eye on something."

Gu Yuxin: "Ask away~ Even if you prioritize romance over friendship, I'll still be devoted to you. Just ask whatever you need, I promise to tell you everything I know!"

Yan Bingxue: "It's... I have a friend, and when she was chatting with the man she likes, she accidentally had a dirty thought and the other person found out... What do you think, will the other person think she's not a good girl?"
