Moms' Afternoon Tea

After dinner, Yan Dad and Yan Mom took the car back home.

Yan Mom sent Gu Mom a message, inviting her over for afternoon tea the next day. Gu Mom readily agreed.

Yan Mom prepared some pastries and coffee for afternoon tea early on.

"Ding-dong, ding-dong~" A knock sounded at the door. The housekeeper opened it for Gu Mom. "Mrs. Gu, please come in. Madam is over by the balcony."

"Okay, thank you~" Gu Mom said gently.

Gu Mom changed into slippers and walked over, seeing Tang Shuyun tending to the plants on the balcony. Gu Mom smiled and said, "You really do have the leisure for this, tending to plants and all. But it's the middle of winter, and it's freezing. Come inside quickly, or you'll catch a cold~"

Tang Shuyun set the watering can aside and said, "Isn't it because I'm afraid this carefully raised pot of corn poppies will freeze in the middle of winter? I came over to check on them. You're right on time, though~"

Gu Mom set down the coffee in her hand and said, "Honestly, aren't we so idle every day? The company doesn't need us to worry about it anymore. My daughter may not be abroad now, but I still hardly ever see her. With just two old people at home, how could we not be bored?"

"I actually envy you. Your daughter is married and has two such adorable grandchildren. When you have nothing to do, you can visit Su Chen's home, hold your grandsons, and see your daughter. What a wonderful life. Unlike ours, there's still no certainty!"

"Last time, I picked out a few candidates for her and wanted them to meet. But our Yuxin said blind dates aren't popular anymore, and that she had things under control. It
