Lin Xiu and Su Haoqian walked into the café, where a Bach piano piece was playing.
The café was peaceful. Many people were inside—office workers using their laptops, as well as couples out on dates.
Each table had two roses of varying lengths placed on it.
Su Haoqian chose a seat by the window and sat down with Lin Xiu.
"Xiu, let's sit over there!" Su Haoqian said with a smile.
Lin Xiu nodded with a smile, and the two walked over.
They sat across from each other.
The server approached politely and asked, "Hello, what would you like?"
Su Haoqian smiled. "Two Americanos, please. Thank you."
"Certainly!" The server smiled, gave a slight bow, and stepped away.
The server brought over two Americanos. "Hello, here is your coffee."
"Thank you," Lin Xiu said gently.
Su Haoqian prepared Lin Xiu's coffee with milk and little sugar, then handed it to her.
Lin Xiu smiled and asked, "Old Su, how did you know my taste?"
Su Haoqian smiled. "As your husband, wouldn't I be terribly unqualified if I didn't know something like that?"
Lin Xiu smiled as she gently stirred her coffee. She lifted the cup and saucer, took a small sip, and said, "Mm... it tastes just right!"
Su Haoqian also took a sip of his coffee. "Not bad. The beans here are quite good—very fragrant!"
Lin Xiu smiled as she looked at Su Haoqian.
Su Haoqian set down his cup and said with a smile, "Xiu, it's been a long time since we enjoyed coffee together like this."
Lin Xiu smiled and sighed. "Yes, but there will be many more days like this in the future!"
Su Haoqian laughed.
Su Haoqian turned to look at the café's bookshelf and found that the books displayed there were all quite good.
