"Damn..."
Seeing the change in his opponent, Fang Mo finally realized what was happening. "That giant octopus has come to collect my life..."
"Who? A giant octopus?"
Kariya Matou instinctively asked, "What is that thing?"
"The book in that guy's hand."
Fang Mo jumped straight down from the wall of the pit. "What's recorded in that book doesn't belong to humanity. If I had to put it bluntly, it's forbidden knowledge from the abyss. And the source of that knowledge is a giant octopus. Unfortunately, I've got some history with that guy..."
That was right. Back in the One-Punch Dungeon,
Fang Mo had accidentally fought one of the most famous Great Old Ones.
That Great Old One was none other than Cthulhu, said to slumber in the depths of R'lyeh, the Great Old One fanatically worshipped by the Deep Ones...
Fang Mo had been young and hot-blooded back then, and apparently started fighting that thing without a word. Because Lovecraftian Gods were immortal, and because Fang Mo hadn't wanted to completely fall out with him—after all, they both knew Nyarlathotep—he had created a pile of Elder Signs and sealed him inside the Shit Sword. Once his anger had faded, he gave the sword to Nyarlathotep.
Given Nyarlathotep's personality,
Fang Mo figured she had definitely let Cthulhu out.
And because the universe where they primarily dwelled didn't overlap with any of the realms Fang Mo had explored, the two sides had essentially remained strangers until death.
Although Cthulhu was probably very unhappy about it,
he likely wouldn't come looking for Fang Mo's trouble again.
After all, their strength wasn't on the same level. When Fang Mo's First Entity got serious, his rank was simply too high. If Cthulhu came running over again, he would only end up sealed in a toilet.
