Hammer Technique Descending from the Heavens?

After obtaining the Linking Book, Fang Mo couldn't hold back for even a second.

He wished he could immediately travel to the Marvel world, find Nick Fury, and throw an entire gold block in his face, suggesting that S.H.I.E.L.D. might as well just follow him from now on.

Or he could go find Tony Stark and mess around with the radiation joke again.

If the guy still hadn't solved his palladium poisoning problem, Fang Mo wouldn't mind just pulling out a bucket of milk and chugging it down his throat to see if the milk could actually remove the poisoning DEBUFF or something.

But even though Fang Mo was eager, he still had to prepare.

Last time, he had just awakened his Stand-in Steve when the Age Book yanked him straight into the Marvel world, and he was dirt poor with nothing but a few gold ingots on him.

Luckily, Fang Mo was blessed by the RNG gods and drew an Ender Hand; otherwise, he probably couldn't even beat a scrub like Abomination.

Since Fang Mo got burned last time, he was definitely going to be fully prepared this time.

Especially for testing the real-world effects of MC items—Fang Mo was really interested in that.

After all, the Ender Hand was incredibly useful in reality, so this time he packed a ton of stuff, ready to test them all out in the real world.

It was a good thing Steve had drawn the Alchemical Bag, or he probably wouldn't have been able to fit all this stuff.

Organizing the items took Fang Mo a long time; it wasn't until the sky had gone dark that he finally put away the Alchemical Bag with satisfaction and had Steve pull out the Age Book, right-clicking to open it.

The next second, endless black mist surged from the book, engulfing both of them completely.

A brief feeling of weightlessness came and went, and soon everything settled. Fang Mo excitedly opened his eyes, only to be hit by a sudden gust of wind, with a ton of yellow sand slapping him right in the face.

"Huh? Desert?"

Fang Mo was stunned for a moment, then immediately started looking around.

His location really did look like a desert, with several sand dunes around and some withered yellow plants struggling to grow here.

But since it was nighttime and very dark, Fang Mo's vision was blocked, and he could only vaguely see some faint lights not too far away, like a camp or something.

"Did I end up in Afghanistan again, dammit?"

Seeing this, Fang Mo was a bit annoyed: "Come on... I really don't want to kill terrorists anymore. Please, can you teleport me to somewhere awesome?"

Actually, Fang Mo's guess had some basis.

After all, in the game, every time a player uses the Age Book, they get teleported to the same coordinates.

Those coordinates are kind of like the Overworld spawn point, and Fang Mo suspected his spawn point might have been set in that cave, forcing him to escape Afghanistan every time he came to the Marvel world.

But just as Fang Mo was getting a headache, something flashed in the sky. In this pitch-black night, the light was very noticeable and instantly caught his attention.

"Huh? What's that?"

Fang Mo looked up curiously at the sky and saw what seemed to be a light point.

Since it was so dark, Fang Mo couldn't see clearly what it was. Anyway, the thing traced a long arc across the sky and then flew straight toward him.

"Holy crap..."

Seeing this meteor-like thing heading straight for him, Fang Mo instinctively activated his teleport.

Purple light flickered, and Fang Mo vanished instantly.

The next second, the thing slammed heavily into the ground with a loud boom, making the whole earth tremble. The massive shockwave lifted the sand dunes like waves, burying everything around in yellow sand.

Luckily, Fang Mo could teleport, and after a few flashes, he dodged the sand wave.

"Getting hit in the face by a meteor right after crossing over, huh."

After dodging the shockwave, Fang Mo looked at the crater not far away and couldn't help but complain: "System, aren't you going to unlock a Meteorite Mod for me?"

But to his surprise, the system actually chimed in after hearing his words.

"No way? It actually gave it?"

Hearing the electronic prompt in his mind, Fang Mo was a bit surprised.

Though a little shocked, Fang Mo still teleported a few times into the crater, planning to unlock this free mod first.

But when he got to the crater, he realized something was off.

Because in the very center of the crater, there was no meteorite at all—instead, a red-hot hammer was stuck in a stone, still faintly steaming from the recent impact.

"This... a hammer?"

Seeing this, Fang Mo immediately understood. This was obviously Thor's hammer. It seemed the time flow in the MC world and the Marvel world was different. He hadn't been gone long, and Thor's storyline had already started.

If that was the case, he must have missed the Iron Man 2 plot.

Tony Stark should have already solved the palladium poisoning problem, gotten his father's inspiration with S.H.I.E.L.D.'s help, and invented a new element.

Just as Fang Mo was thinking about the plot, another system prompt rang in his mind.

"Huh?"

This sudden reminder caught Fang Mo off guard.

The stuff in this pit clearly wasn't a meteorite, yet the system still prompted that there was a new module permission. Honestly, Fang Mo was a bit confused—what the hell kind of module could this unlock, a Hammer Core or something?

But thinking aside, Fang Mo still reached out toward Thor's Hammer.

And as he touched Thor's Hammer, the system chimed with another prompt.

System Prompt: You have grasped the internal structure of 'Uru Metal of the Gods.' You have obtained 30% download permission for a new module.

After hearing the system prompt again, Fang Mo finally caught on.

It seemed this new module had nothing to do with the hammer after all; it was probably something like a Tinkers' Construct alloy expansion or similar.

But right now, the module was only 30% loaded, which meant he'd probably need to study some other metals—like Vibranium, Meteoritic Iron, or minerals like Tiberium.

Thinking this, Fang Mo pulled a phone out of his pocket and dialed Nick Fury's number.

"Fang Mo?" The call was picked up almost instantly, and Nick Fury's somewhat surprised voice came through: "You... when did you get back?"

"Suddenly got an itch. I need you to send me Captain America's Shield within half an hour so I can touch it," Fang Mo said directly into the phone. "After it's done, I'll give you twenty tons of gold as research funding for S.H.I.E.L.D.'s private study of the Tesseract."
