"A dungeon? No way?"
Looking at the mossy stone before him, Fang Mo was clearly taken aback.
Although he had seen plenty of dungeons in the game, stumbling upon one with just a single pickaxe swing was honestly pretty rare.
Fang Mo had Steve dig out the mossy stone and peered inside, finding a very cramped and dim space. In the center of the floor sat a Monster Spawner, its particle-burning effects churning as several Zombies materialized out of thin air, beginning to wander and pace around the room.
In the corner of the room, a wooden chest sat quietly in place.
As everyone knew, aside from Dark Souls players, no one could resist the temptation to open a treasure chest in a game.
Fang Mo was no exception.
If Steve were still stark naked, Fang Mo might have played it safe.
But now he was fully decked out, right? With this gear, he'd dare to solo the Ender Dragon on a server, so taking on a few Zombies was as easy as slaughtering chickens and dogs.
With that thought, Fang Mo simply waved his hand.
Steve received the command and immediately swung his pickaxe, digging through the mossy stone. Then his iron sword turned into a blur of flashing steel, and the few Zombies couldn't even put up a fight before they all turned into Rotten Flesh on the ground.
After dealing with the Zombies, Fang Mo sealed the Monster Spawner with a Torch and blocked off the dungeon's gap, then swaggered over to flip through the chest.
The loot in the reward chest was pretty mediocre: a few Gold Ingots, a regular Golden Apple.
And a very strange Golden Book.
"Huh?"
Seeing this uniquely styled Golden Book, Fang Mo was a bit puzzled. "What's this?"
Clearly, this wasn't an Enchanted Book. Enchanted Books had brown covers with shimmering Light Purple enchantment effects, but this one's cover was gold.
Fang Mo examined the book a little and found its item name was a string of English: 'Marvel Comics.' For some reason, this string felt incredibly familiar to Fang Mo, but unfortunately, he was a complete English illiterate. Even though it rang a bell, he still couldn't grasp its meaning.
What was certain was that this book was definitely an item from some mod.
But...
How should he put it?
Fang Mo really couldn't remember which mod this thing came from.
Sticking to the mindset of "since I don't know, why not try right-clicking it," Fang Mo had Steve use the Golden Book.
But what Fang Mo didn't expect was that the moment the book was opened, a torrent of black mist surged out from within, completely engulfing both Fang Mo and Steve.
[Achievement Get: One-Way Trip.]
Along with the cold electronic voice echoing in his mind, Fang Mo felt his vision plunge into darkness. A sensation of rapid falling swept through his entire body, but this eerie feeling lasted only a few seconds before everything returned to normal.
Fang Mo opened his eyes and found himself in a strange place.
It looked like a cave, very dim all around. A table nearby was cluttered with a mess of items, and not far off stood a heavy iron door. The whole place reeked of a stale, filthy stench.
Seeing this, Fang Mo was visibly stunned.
This place was clearly Earth. Even though he didn't recognize the location at all, everything here was incredibly real. The exposed rocks in the cave were all irregular shapes, not forcibly squared into 1x1 meter Cobblestone Blocks.
"I'm back?"
Fang Mo was a bit excited. He had no idea how it happened, but the thought that he had actually returned was amazing. Finally, he had a chance to go see his family.
But before Fang Mo could enjoy it for long, a commotion suddenly erupted from outside. The heavy iron door was yanked open, and a bunch of armed men were dragging in two blood-soaked prisoners. When they looked up, they spotted Fang Mo inside.
For a moment, both sides froze.
"¥*F#(K)!?"
Before Fang Mo could say anything, this group reacted first, raising their guns at him and rattling off words he couldn't understand at all.
"Holy crap..."
Seeing the guns in their hands, Fang Mo panicked a bit. As a modern person, fearing these things was practically an instinct. He instinctively raised his hands. "Uh, I... this... er... crap, brain, move, think of something!"
[System Prompt: Chinese Language Mod download starting.]
"What?"
Hearing this sudden voice, Fang Mo was startled, but before he could react, the group across from him made their move.
With a bang of gunfire, Fang Mo felt a tremendous force slam into his forehead.
The next second, he uncontrollably fell backward.
"HAHAHHA!"
Seeing Fang Mo drop, the group burst into cruel, mocking laughter.
The two prisoners, on the other hand, looked agitated. One of them kept shouting things like "NO!" and "You demons!!!"
"HAHAHA!!!"
But the more agitated the prisoners got, the more excited these men seemed, their faces twisting into sneers of smug satisfaction, as if they were enjoying the show.
Soon enough, though, their laughter died.
Because they saw Fang Mo's 'corpse' slowly getting back up.
"Fuck your mother, you think I'm Kennedy or something?"
Fang Mo slowly straightened up. A bullet hole had been punched clean through his forehead, tunneling from his brow straight out the back of his skull. But bizarrely, he didn't seem affected at all—not even a single drop of blood oozed from the wound.
The truth was, Fang Mo really was fine.
Even with his head blown open, he hadn't felt even a flicker of pain.
Instead, it was Steve on the other end who inexplicably lost half a heart.
And oddly enough, it was that half-heart loss that snapped Fang Mo out of his panic and slowly calmed him down. Because he finally remembered who he was now.
How could a Stand User with a powerful Stand be afraid of a bunch of ordinary people holding guns?
With that thought, Fang Mo's expression gradually turned cold.
If this were an anime scene, ominous purple flames would probably be blazing around him right now.
Maybe some oppressive background music would be blaring at the same time, that kind of terrifying aura enough to cast Fang Mo as a full-blown villainous big boss.
Steve emerged like a ghost from behind Fang Mo, his utterly expressionless face looking especially eerie.
After personally experiencing the danger and cruelty of this world, Fang Mo's already fragile moral compass shattered instantly. The combat skills honed through thousands of days and nights playing games with Steve finally bore fruit. With a flicker of thought, Steve shot forward like a phantom and executed a jumping slash aimed at the bearded leader.
The big guy froze for a moment, then a thin line of blood began to trace down from his forehead.
The next second, his body split apart without warning, guts spilling everywhere with a wet splash, and the pungent stench of blood quickly filled the air.
"Uh... Uwaaaah!!!"
Seeing their comrade's gruesome death, the rest of the men screamed in terror and opened fire wildly at Fang Mo.
But unlike last time, the bullets flying toward Fang Mo all came to a bizarre halt midair.
Steve raised a shield as thick as a door panel, blocking every bullet aimed at Fang Mo.
But at the end of the day, Steve was just an illusion formed from mental willpower. So unless you were a 'kindred spirit,' ordinary people couldn't see him.
That's why, from the perspective of the men across from him, it looked like Fang Mo was stopping bullets out of thin air.
"!?"
Seeing that Fang Mo could even block bullets, the group grew even more terrified. They kept pulling the triggers, and in an instant, countless tongues of flame spat out. The durability of Steve's shield began to plummet.
Fang Mo narrowed his eyes. Under his mental command, Steve quickly pulled out a few blocks of Cobblestone and placed them in front of him.
Bullets clinked against the Cobblestone, sparks flying along with stone chips.
Soon, the men emptied their magazines. But even so, they kept frantically pulling the triggers, their guns clicking empty—not a single bullet left to fire.
Facing the horrified group, Steve coldly raised his iron sword.
How terrifying is a monster that can turn invisible?
A monster that can split a person clean in half with one vertical slash?
When Steve cleaved another man diagonally in two, the gun-toting thugs finally had a mental breakdown and scrambled to flee, crawling and rolling.
Fang Mo didn't pursue.
Not that he'd suddenly had a change of heart or anything.
It was just that, at that moment, that strange electronic voice rang out in his head again.
[System Prompt: Chinese Language Mod download complete. Load?]
"Chinese Language Mod?"
Hearing that, Fang Mo was caught off guard. "What's this mod for? Is there something in the MC world that needs translating? Wait... could this thing translate the English on that Golden Book from before?"
[System Prompt: Chinese Language Mod download complete. Load?]
The electronic voice ignored Fang Mo entirely, just mechanically repeating the same message.
"Hmm... alright." Fang Mo thought for a moment, then nodded in agreement. "Let's try loading it."
[System Prompt: Chinese Language Mod loaded successfully.]
[System Prompt: Since you downloaded and ran a new mod, you have received a Lucky Block. This Lucky Block will randomly draw one item from any known mod.]
As the electronic prompt sounded, Fang Mo felt a faint, sharp sting in his mind, as if something strange had been added. At the same time, a multicolored block appeared in Steve's backpack.
"A Lucky Block?"
Seeing the colorful block suddenly in his inventory, Fang Mo looked surprised. He knew about the Lucky Block mod, of course—opening one could get you good stuff from vanilla Minecraft. But this Lucky Block in his hand could even pull items from mods... This had to be some modded version, right?
Now Fang Mo was a bit confused. He couldn't figure out how this 'any known mod' was calculated.
Was it the mods in his own modpack?
Or... did it include every mod he personally knew about?
"Hey, friend, how did you do that just now? Is it sorcery?" While Fang Mo was thinking, a voice suddenly rang out, and two sneaky figures poked their heads out from a corner.
Fang Mo instinctively looked back, and the next second, he froze completely. "Iron... Iron Man?!"
