Hearing Fang Mo's words.
Everyone finally realized the severity of the situation.
"W-Wait..."
Kitty looked nervous, clearly unable to accept this terrifying reality for the moment. "Lord Celestial, you have to be joking with us, right?"
"Y-Yeah."
Bobby the Iceman also looked incredulous. "You're one of the original X-Men, a being known as the Celestial. No matter how I think about it, you couldn't possibly do something like this, right? With your help, we can definitely save the world again..."
Yes, this had been mentioned before.
Fang Mo had first become active around the time of X-Men: First Class.
That had been during the Cold War. These new-generation X-Men had not even been born yet. Although Fang Mo had returned once afterward, they had only been children then and had not interacted much with him.
As for much of Fang Mo's history,
they had only heard about it from their seniors.
But people like Professor X and Darwin... were fundamentally the sort of good-natured people who only mentioned Fang Mo's enormous contributions to the world and the academy when introducing him.
As for Fang Mo's headache-inducing personality,
everyone, including Logan, had tacitly agreed not to mention it.
Yet that had created this awkward situation, causing Kitty, Peter, Bobby, and the others to develop some subtle misunderstandings about Fang Mo.
It was like a believer who had joined a church after reading the New Testament, always believing God to be loving and gentle.
Then one day,
some Jewish man handed him the Old Testament...
The shock was imaginable. Put more seriously, it could directly shatter one's faith.
"Sorry."
Of course, Fang Mo did not care about any of that. He slowly shook his head, crushing their hopes. "This world no longer has any value worth saving. Destruction is its best ending."
