On Xavier's School's field, Fang Mo looked at the silent crowd before him, torn between laughter and tears. "I just left, I didn't die. Can you wipe those miserable looks off your faces?"
"He's right."
Standing beside Fang Mo, Logan nodded as he puffed on his cigar. "You don't need to be like this."
"It's only natural, Logan."
Charles was the one who spoke. He stood there in a neat suit, wearing a kindly, gentle smile. He seemed to possess a calmness far beyond his years. "We've known each other for nearly a century. It's only natural to feel sad when parting."
"I know."
Logan took a deep drag on his cigar, then turned his head aside. "I just don't like this feeling."
"So you'll come back, right?"
This time, Raven spoke. She stood beside Hank, looking at the two of them with a complicated expression. "About how long will it take?"
"I don't know."
Fang Mo spread his hands. "Maybe a few months, maybe a few years. Time flows differently in every world, so I can't say for sure."
"When you suddenly leave, this place will probably become quiet again."
Charles glanced at his estate, then at the Weapon Girls and Bilibili Stars behind Fang Mo. Though he wore a smile, there was unmistakable sadness in his voice. "We worked so hard to get used to this kind of life."
"Don't worry, it won't stay quiet for long."
Fang Mo smiled. "The Mutant Act has officially been established, and everything is getting on track. Plus, you're always on TV... I imagine the next generation of mutant children will be showing up soon, right?"
"Perhaps."
Charles merely nodded gently.
"Alright, Professor."
Perhaps sensing the somber mood, someone behind Fang Mo soon called out.
