The two plummeted rapidly!
Li Ying panicked.
If he fell like this, he wasn't made of iron, nor was he a defense-type Battle Soul Master who could take a beating... Wouldn't he be crippled?
"Kid, let go!" Li Ying yelled.
"No."
"Let go, and I can get you safely to the ground." Li Ying grew even more frantic.
"Don't bother. The earth is our mother. Let's fall into our mother's embrace together."
"Sir, I'm begging you... Let go." Li Ying's voice trembled.
The wind whistled past his ears. He had no idea where this kid had gotten his strength, but the boy had his arms and legs bound tight.
"You could call me 'Dad' and it still wouldn't help."
"..."
Boom!
Before the three could make sense of what was happening, after just a few seconds, the two slammed into the ground almost simultaneously!
A blast of air kicked up around them!
"Hey, was Cloud Sky Throw a Soul Skill that took both of them down with it?"
Ling Ren was utterly dumbfounded. "Why did they both fall together...?"
The three hadn't seen what happened.
"Quick, let's go take a look!"
Si Rong hurriedly called out. "Xiao Mie might be hurt!"
The three quickly headed toward where the two had landed. When they got a good look, they froze.
The child in the black robe was shaking the dust off himself. When he saw them coming, he grinned.
"You're here?"
The three looked Wang Feng up and down for a long while.
Si Rong swallowed and asked, "Y-you're all right?"
After falling from that height, even Lao Hei would have been left dizzy and spitting blood.
But... how did this kid look as if nothing had happened?
"I'm hurt. My whole body's in agony..." Wang Feng said with a smile.
At that, the three exchanged glances, unable to speak for a moment.
They could only think: Do you look like you're in agony?
"Where's that guy?" Lao Hei asked.
Wang Feng seemed to remember something. He quickly jumped out of the small crater they'd made when they hit the ground and pointed at Li Ying inside it.
"Look, isn't he right here?"
The three looked over and drew in a sharp breath.
Compared with Wang Feng, who was completely unharmed, Li Ying was in a truly miserable state.
His eyes had rolled back, blood poured from his mouth, and he lay there like a dead fish.
"When we fell, I used him as a cushion," Wang Feng said with a grin.
In truth, they'd fallen together.
But Wang Feng's body was exceptionally strong. Even a fall from nearly twenty meters up hadn't done much to him.
Li Ying, on the other hand, was in terrible shape.
He was probably badly injured, with several broken ribs.
The three suddenly understood. So that was what had happened.
"Why didn't he let go of you just now?" Ling Ren asked, puzzled. "Was Cloud Sky Throw really a Soul Skill that took both of you down with it?"
When Li Ying had leapt into the air with Wang Feng in his arms, and as they fell, they had both been spinning at high speed. The three couldn't see clearly.
They hadn't heard their conversation, either.
"Who knows?" Wang Feng shrugged. "Didn't he say this was his new Soul Skill? He probably hasn't mastered it yet. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to use him as a cushion."
"Seems that way. New Soul Skills usually take time to get used to. A move like that is extremely dangerous."
Lao Hei looked at Li Ying with scorn and gave him a kick. "How stupid can you be? You haven't even mastered your Soul Skill, and you dared to use it? And then you let someone use you as a cushion? With a move like that, once you've thrown your enemy into the air, you're obviously supposed to pull back. But you went and fell with him? What an idiot!"
Li Ying spat out another mouthful of blood and pointed at Wang Feng, but couldn't manage to say a word.
It wasn't that he hadn't mastered the skill. This kid had bound him! He couldn't pull away at all!
They had fallen together, but who could have known this kid would come out completely unscathed?
"Come on, see if he has any Gold Soul Coins on him."
Wang Feng hurriedly urged the three. "Otherwise, this trip will have been for nothing..."
After beating a monster, you naturally looted its corpse. It was a fine tradition.
"Fine, I'll do it first!"
Lao Hei looked like he knew what he was doing. He put his two rough hands straight to work, rummaging over Li Ying.
Before long, he pulled out a small pouch.
"There should be dozens of Gold Soul Coins in here. Not a bad haul." Lao Hei opened the pouch, but his face immediately darkened. "Why are they all Silver Soul Coins? There are only a few Gold Soul Coins!"
"Talk about being broke!"
Lao Hei shook his head. "No wonder he has to steal other people's Spirit Rings! What a nuisance!"
Lao Hei spat several times in disgust.
Li Ying's mouth twitched again.
Wang Feng thought to himself that if someone hunted Soul Beasts alone, it meant either that they were very strong, or that they had no connections and no money, and couldn't find anyone to help. That was why they resorted to despicable things.
It was pretty normal.
"Lao Hei, let me search him."
Wang Feng looked Li Ying over, stepped forward, and ran his hands over him.
Before long, he pulled out a white ring-shaped object that looked somewhat like a finger ring.
"Huh, what's this?"
Wang Feng looked surprised. "Did this guy get married? With a face like his, someone actually married him?"
"..." Li Ying.
At the sight of the ring, Li Ying suddenly struggled violently, but all his body did was twitch. No matter how hard he struggled, it was no use.
"So worked up. Could it be a token of love?" Wang Feng wondered.
Just then, Si Rong suddenly said in a grave voice:
"Xiao Mie, that's not a ring... It should be a Soul Tool! I can't believe this guy has such a precious Soul Tool!"
When he heard the words "Soul Tool,"
Wang Feng was stunned.
Of course he knew what that was. Xiao San had a famous Soul Tool of his own, Twenty-Four Moonlit Bridges.
It had twenty-four cubic units of space, a divine treasure for storing things! It was also something you wore, and it looked great.
It was a gift from Grandmaster.
"A Soul Tool? Damn, could he have hidden all his good stuff inside it?" Ling Ren said excitedly.
The three of them had no Soul Power left.
So Wang Feng directly activated his Soul Power and probed into the ring. Then...
Wang Feng searched it, moved his hand, and several books sewn together with thread suddenly appeared in his hand.
"There's nothing in it, just these few books..." Wang Feng said regretfully. "What a poor guy. He probably got this Soul Tool by sheer luck. If he had to buy it, he couldn't afford something this precious."
The ring's space wasn't large, only two or three cubic units.
It was far inferior to Xiao San's.
But Wang Feng thought it was pretty novel, and it would be useful to him. He could keep odds and ends in it, which would make traveling much more convenient.
"Books? What books?" Si Rong asked curiously, taking a look.
The moment she saw them, her face flushed red. She turned on Li Ying and cursed, "You lecherous scoundrel!"
Wang Feng, Ling Ren, and Lao Hei all froze. They looked at the books, and their expressions varied.
Lao Hei's face turned red.
Wang Feng and Ling Ren, however, looked at them with keen interest.
Those books... were unmistakably explicit books for adults.
"6666, damn it, a Soul Tool, something this precious, and you actually used it to store this kind of stuff?" Wang Feng looked at Li Ying, whose secret had now been exposed, and burst out laughing.
"You really are one hell of a talent!"
