Early in the morning, a ray of sunlight slipped in through the window, as cautiously as a boy's hand venturing into a girl's blouse for the first time.
Nora's eyelids fluttered a few times before she groggily opened her eyes. By her ear came the manager's gentle voice. "Nora? Are you up?"
Nora instantly woke up and shot upright in bed, only then realizing that the voice had come from the Doll in her arms.
A disappointed expression inevitably appeared on her face.
She helplessly tapped her forehead, thinking that she had really been overthinking things.
The manager was still far away in the Imperial Capital. How could he have suddenly returned here?
What a pity... It would have been nice if the manager could have gone with her to pay respects to Grandma...
