The carriage jolted, and Ron opened his eyes.

He found himself inside a carriage, with the scenery outside the window rushing past in reverse.

Then came countless fragments of memory, like snowflakes made of blades, one after another stabbing into his mind!

He gritted his teeth against the pain, pressing one hand to his forehead and the other over his mouth. He muffled his groan.

Rexis Continent...

Humans, Orcs, Dwarves, Elves, Gnomes...

Magic... warriors... battle aura...

The Seventh Prince of the Human Empire... Ron Andre...

The child of Andre III and a half-Orc Fox-kin woman...

Because of the many rumors circulating in the palace, once Ron Andre came of age, Andre III sent him away from the palace to enjoy his "retirement" in Chaos City...

The carriage Ron was in was part of a merchant caravan headed for Chaos City.

"I transmigrated..." Ron rubbed his temples. After briefly "reviewing" some superficial fragments of memory, he finally understood his current situation.

"So I wasn't kidnapped. I really transmigrated." Ron muttered to himself, still finding it a little hard to believe.

"Damn! I guess this is karma..." Ron gave a helpless, bitter smile. "Is this what I get for staying up late watching anime?"

He only remembered staying up late to watch anime, then suddenly passing out. When he opened his eyes again, he was already sitting in this carriage.

So dying suddenly really was one of the more popular ways to transmigrate these days. I actually transmigrated just like that!?

I still have several houses back home waiting for me to inherit!!!

My future was supposed to be that of an ordinary landlord, doing nothing but collecting rent—or heading out to collect rent!

Why did this have to happen to me!?

All I wanted was to browse Bilibili, watch anime, read some mindless wish-fulfillment novels, occasionally admire the teachers' skillful techniques, fight back online, eat fried chicken, and drink sugary soda.

What more could anyone want from life!?

If I ever find out who arranged this for me, I'll mail him a whole truckload of razor blades!

Ron grumbled to himself for a while, then slowly accepted reality.

He'd been an avid reader for ten years, so he could adapt to this much, at least.

Then a cool, detached voice rang out in his mind—

"Host's emotions are stable. Condition is normal. Binding may proceed."

"Binding started. Binding complete."

Ron froze for a moment, then shuddered. "What the hell!?"

"System?" he tentatively whispered.

System: "Congratulations, Host. You have bound the system."

Once he heard the system respond and confirmed he hadn't imagined it, Ron's expression settled somewhat.

He glanced out the window and saw that the nearest mercenary was five or six meters away. Reassured, he lowered his hand, but still covered his mouth as he muttered, "Are you people always this overbearing? Binding without even asking me? You've made me look bad!"

System: "The Host can reply directly in his mind. There is no need to speak aloud."

"Ahem..." Ron awkwardly scratched his eyebrow, blushing a little.

System: "This system is the Cultivation System. Its purpose is to provide seeds and cultivation methods for all kinds of wondrous plants, helping the Host become a true master of plants."

"Hmm... A master of plants... Doesn't sound that great..." Ron considered the idea in his mind.

When he played games, he usually chose warrior classes that charged straight in without a second thought. He rarely tried ranged classes, let alone some "unorthodox path" like a master of plants.

The system didn't seem interested in the Host's prejudice. It continued, "Generating the Host's information template..."

The next moment, a translucent panel glowing with a blue light appeared before Ron—

System Level: 1 Host: Ron Andre Race: Human/Fox-kin hybrid Gender: Male Age: 18 Class: None Wealth Points: 0 [Quests] (red dot) [Inventory] [Shop]

Years of habit made Ron instinctively open the [Quests] tab.

The quest list unfolded—

[Main Quest]—[Own a Flower Shop]:

"Requirements: Own a Flower Shop in Chaos City."

"Reward: Nether Orchid seeds and cultivation methods."

Ron read the System Panel without expression and offered his verdict: "This quest is so cliché."

System: "Please complete your quests diligently, Host."

"I'll see." Ron gave a noncommittal reply and closed the System Panel.

Just then, the carriage gradually came to a stop.

Ron glanced out the window and saw that it had stopped in front of an inn.

The merchants in the two carriages ahead climbed down and went straight inside.

A mercenary escorting the caravan came to Ron's carriage and respectfully addressed him. "Your Highness, Prince Ron, we've reached the inn. We'll rest here for the night."

Ron got down from the carriage and followed the mercenary into the inn. Only after asking around did he learn that they hadn't reached Chaos City yet. They were in a small town on the border of Lonsoket County, in the southeastern part of the Human Empire, still about a day's journey from Chaos City.

He was given a large suite.

The room's furnishings were plain, but for this small town, they were the finest available.

The mercenary had seemed nervous when escorting Ron upstairs, afraid Ron would blame him for the room's shabbiness.

Ron didn't know what the original owner's temperament had been like, but he himself didn't care about such things. He waved the mercenary away.

Ron Andre had grown up in the palace. His Fox-kin mother had died in childbirth, while Andre III usually ignored him. On top of that, his mixed blood had made him an outcast at court.

So the original owner had probably been introverted, perhaps even timid. Maybe he'd also harbored some resentment toward his father?

Ron hadn't fully absorbed the original owner's memories. Many scattered fragments still lingered in his mind, so for now, he could only guess.

Now that he'd been sent away from the palace, there was no one familiar around him. The chances of anyone noticing the difference in his personality were greatly reduced, which saved him a lot of trouble.

He walked over to the window and looked outside.

It was dusk. The setting sun cast its afterglow at an angle across the street, illuminating the faces of passersby.

This was human territory, so most of the people on the street were human. But since they were near the border of the Human Empire, people of other races weren't uncommon either.

Dwarves and Gnomes occasionally appeared in the crowd, much to Ron's fascination.

Though both were short, humanoid races, they looked quite different.

Dwarves had skin similar to humans, thick limbs, bushy beards, and ugly faces.

Gnomes had green skin, big ears, hooked noses, shrill voices, and sleazy faces.

Ron watched the passing crowd with keen interest. At last, he spotted a female Elf walking toward him from a street corner not far away.

Elves looked much like humans, but their features were more refined, and they had pointed ears unlike human ears.

Ron admired her carefully and nodded to himself.

System: "Daily quest triggered."

[Daily Quest]—[Lift the passerby Elf's skirt]:

"Requirements: Lift the skirt of the passerby Elf before she leaves this street."

"Reward: Completing this quest is the best reward a gentleman could ask for!"

Ron: Meow meow meow???
