After saying goodbye to Lyle, Ron and Mason left Lyle's courtyard, walked directly onto Desak Street behind Eckley Street, and headed toward the courtyard behind Ron's shop.

Passing through the alley between two courtyards, Ron saw a thin, small figure wearing tattered hemp clothes and a cloth cap, rummaging through a trash can.

The person noticed Ron's gaze, their body stiffened, and then, clutching what they had scavenged from the trash, they pulled their hat down tight and quickly fled out the other end of the alley.

"Uh..." Ron paused for a moment. If he hadn't seen wrong, what that person was holding looked like the leftovers from his lunch.

"Saw a homeless child, looks pretty young," Ron said. "Are there many homeless people in Chaos City?"

"There are some slums on the hillside in the far east, mostly people who came to Chaos City to strike it rich but failed, or their descendants," Mason replied. "Every city has similar slums; Chaos City is actually doing better because of its developed trade."

Ron nodded thoughtfully.

The original owner's identity was the Seventh Prince, so he had no concept of these things.
