The one calling from outside was Wu Adept. The reply from Mingsha Market had arrived yesterday, but Feng Jun had not been in Lantern Town at the time.
Wu Adept knew they were at Liba Beach, which was not far from Lantern Town, but he had not gone there to notify them—the Lu Clan brothers' response was an outright provocation, and he had no desire to rush over and further anger Feng Jun.
In fact, from the moment he had moved against Venerable Pan yesterday, he had already chosen a side. He was betting that Feng Jun was stronger.
After entering the Blessing Courtyard, the first person he saw was Du Fanghui. "Fellow Daoist Fanghui is here too?"
The two knew each other. They were both within the same market's sphere of influence, so it was perfectly normal for adepts to know one another. Moreover, both the Wu Clan and the Du Clan were the sort that did not develop much within the market, instead keeping their heads down and managing their own territories. They were more than ordinarily familiar.
Generally speaking, however, the Wu Clan was considerably weaker than the Du Clan. Their populations were not that far apart—one had over four thousand people, the other eight or nine thousand—but the Du Clan had three Emergence from Dust Adepts.
The two clans were not on entirely equal footing, but they had no major conflicts either. They had helped each other in the past, mostly through exchanges of benefits, enough to ensure roughly equal transactions.
If the Wu Clan went all out against the three Lu brothers, they definitely could not ask the Du Clan for help—their friendship had not reached that point.
Du Fanghui smiled and nodded in greeting. "You have important business. Speak to Feng Mountain Lord first."
