Anyone who knew Feng Xiao's friends understood that my extra updates had always been rather spontaneous.
That whole extra-update-for-a-patron-leader thing was invented by Quan Quan. I'd never really... honestly, I was just hopeless with my hands.
Yesterday, Shanxi's medical workers returned from Wuhan, welcomed at the airport by a water salute.
A water salute... was when two jets of water shot into the sky, and the plane passed beneath them as it landed. It was a powerful visual.
Feng Xiao didn't know where this custom came from, but it felt very solemn, very ceremonial.
I was incredibly happy. It didn't matter that the supplies from our great Shanxi had been given to Wuhan; what mattered was that everyone we had sent out came back safe and whole.
Other provinces each took responsibility for one city in Hubei. Our great Shanxi took responsibility for three cities in Hubei. If you didn't believe it, go search Baidu.
How many cities we covered didn't really matter. What mattered was that we did our best.
There was no need to mention things like motorcycles and police cars clearing the way.
What made me happy was that they had returned safely.
This extra update was only for that. I wasn't asking for monthly votes anymore; this month had gone completely off the rails. We'd talk again next month.
