The short, fat Daoist raised his brows upon hearing that and was about to speak, but he suddenly remembered being rebuked until blood had flowed from all seven orifices and forcibly held himself back.
Daoist Master Ma gave a light cough. "Naturally. Azure Mountain's tradition stretches back a long time, and outstanding figures have emerged one after another."
"Heh." Feng Jun smiled dismissively and pointed at the Ancestral Tablet. "If this tablet is truly an ancestral relic of Azure Mountain, then your tradition is nothing special."
Other than Daoist Master Ma, the faces of the other three Daoists all changed at once—this was a tremendous insult to Azure Mountain.
Daoist Master Ma merely raised his brows slightly. After hesitating, he spoke. "What Fellow Daoist Feng says is not without reason. Azure Mountain's tradition is indeed ancient, but it has faced several crises of extinction. This was left behind by the patriarch of the Yuanxin Tradition four hundred years ago."
Feng Jun nodded thoughtfully. "That makes more sense... I was wondering why the founding patriarch would have been only this capable."
The four Azure Mountain Daoists all rolled their eyes at that—was he praising them or insulting them?
Daoist
