Background

Wang Haifeng comes from a wealthy Yang City family. His father built a low-profile parts-processing business worth hundreds of millions, while his older brother became a county-government official. Rather than enter the family company, Wang pursued fitness, obtained a coaching certificate, and worked at Hongjie Club; he also believed avoiding the family business would reduce pressure on his brother's political career 13 15.

At Hongjie, he became one of Feng Jun's closest friends despite their sharply different social positions. He offered to deal with Liu Shuming after learning Liu had bullied Feng, and he later confronted Hongjie's management when Feng was dismissed for helping the women Liu had harassed 2 18.
