"It seems my first Martial Soul is not simple," Jiang Siming thought to himself.
The reason his Innate Soul Power appeared to drop today was that Jiang Siming had asked the system to mask it; he had no desire to join Martial Soul Hall. Joining them would make it far too difficult to hide his secrets, and once he caught the attention of Bibi Dong, he would be in real trouble. If the secret of his system were ever discovered, there would be nowhere left to run.
The night grew deep, and for the first time since arriving in this world, Jiang Siming slept with true peace of mind.
Three days later.
Old Jack brought Jiang Siming to Tang San's home. As soon as he entered, he shouted, "Tang Hao, you drunkard! You might be content to live your life this way, but you cannot hold the child back. Xiao San has such great talent; he should become a great Soul Master."
"Grandpa Old Jack, please keep your voice down. Dad is sleeping, and he has already agreed to let me attend the Soul Master Academy," Tang San said softly.
"Good child, come with Grandpa."
Jiang Siming stood there, completely bewildered. So, I'm just an afterthought, a freebie thrown in without even a word of greeting?
He smiled helplessly and followed them anyway.
Perhaps it was because of the system, but Jiang Siming's mindset had undergone a massive shift, even he himself hadn't noticed it.
And so, the era belonging to Jiang Siming was about to begin.
Chapter 2: Xiao San, Please Sign for Your Xiao Wu
Inside Notting City.
"Siming, Xiao San, you are both children from our village. You must support each other once you reach the Soul Master Academy. You must become the hope of our Holy Soul Village. Grandpa is old, and I hope to see the day you both achieve fame and success while I am still alive."
"We understand, Grandpa. We will never let you down," Jiang Siming and Tang San said in unison.
Old Jack held a deeper yearning for Soul Masters than the average person. Born on this continent dominated by them, life and death were both dictated by Soul Masters. To the common folk, Soul Masters were their faith and their gods. Perhaps Old Jack had once harbored an indelible dream of his own.
"Children, we are here. This is Notting Academy," Old Jack sighed in relief. Seeing the four shimmering golden characters, his eyes were filled with longing.
Jiang Siming took it all in, secretly swearing that he would never let Grandpa Jack down. He possessed the system; his future held infinite possibilities.
"Little brother, I am here to bring the work-study students from our village to report. This is the certificate issued by Martial Soul Hall," Old Jack said with a hint of pride.
"Go away, go away! Where did this old lunatic come from? Martial Soul Blue Silver Grass, and Innate Full Soul Power? Do you take me for an idiot? Get lost, don't bother me," the young man said arrogantly.
Behind Old Jack, the eyes of Jiang Siming and Tang San instantly turned cold. Tang San was about to speak, but Jiang Siming beat him to it. Even though he knew the plot, he could not bear to see Old Jack humiliated.
"What kind of thing are you? How can you be so sure we aren't Soul Masters? Who would dare forge a certificate from Martial Soul Hall? Are you looking to die?" Jiang Siming said coldly, his first Martial Soul quietly manifesting. A sudden, overwhelming killing intent surged forth. Tang San, standing to the side, was also startled.
Is this Brother Siming's Martial Soul? So strong.
"Apologize," Jiang Siming said coldly again, his killing intent intensifying.
"I said apologize!"
The young man was terrified. He realized he had provoked someone he shouldn't have. Even though Jiang Siming looked only six or seven years old, as long as he was a Soul Master, a commoner could not afford to offend him. This time, he was truly afraid.
"What is going on here?" A middle-aged man with a slightly weathered but undeniably handsome face walked over slowly.
Jiang Siming instantly snapped out of his state of killing intent.
What just happened to me? It seems my Rusty Sword is one that specializes in slaughter.
"This teacher, we are work-study students, but this person won't let us report," Tang San said.
"This is the certificate from Martial Soul Hall."
"The certificate is fine. You may go in," Grandmaster said.
"Wait, I need him to apologize," Jiang Siming spoke up again.
Grandmaster looked at the trembling young man and glared at him.
"I'm sorry," the young man stammered.
"Not to me. To my grandfather."
"I'm sorry."
"I'll let it slide this time, but if there is a next time, keep your neck clean," Jiang Siming snorted coldly.
After saying goodbye to Old Jack.
"Teacher, can you take us to report?" Tang San asked.
"I am not a teacher, but you may call me Grandmaster. By the way, you have Twin Martial Souls, don't you?"
Tang San was shocked. He had only told Tang Hao about this, yet Grandmaster had guessed it from a single certificate.
The following part is the old cliché, so I won't go into detail. Tang San took Grandmaster as his teacher.
Jiang Siming and Tang San were both assigned to Dorm Seven.
"Stop right there. My name is Wang Sheng. Let's have a fight. The winner becomes the boss of Dorm Seven," Wang Sheng said, blocking Jiang Siming and Tang San.
Jiang Siming couldn't help but complain internally. This is too chuunibyou—is this a hot-blooded high school anime?
"Fine, I'll fight you. Xiao San, I know I can't beat you yet, so if I lose, you step in, okay?" Jiang Siming knew his own limits; without using the Donghuang Bell, he truly couldn't beat Tang San right now. But he had the system, and surpassing Tang San was only a matter of time.
"Make your move."
