"Bang, bang, bang!"
After throwing out several kunai at once, Itachi took out the same number again. The kunai struck one another in pairs, changing the paths of the first set, and every one of them hit its target dead center.
After showing off his skills, Itachi turned to Yun. "Didn't you look down on this technique? Why do you want to learn it now?"
Yun looked at the miserable state of his targets, then at the kunai in his hand. It's not that I want to learn it. The Clone Sora needs this technique.
After his previous fight with Danzo and Orochimaru at the Orphanage, he'd realized that although he knew the Flying Thunder God Jutsu, his aim with multiple kunai wasn't good enough. Otherwise, he might have tried killing Danzo that day.
"Cut the chatter and just teach me. I'll treat you to dango later."
Itachi furrowed his brow. He just couldn't get past the Three-Color Dango hurdle.
After explaining the calculations behind shuriken trajectories in detail once more, Itachi showed off again.
To Yun, the explanation sounded like this: My brain understands the theory. My hand can put it into practice anytime. And then...
A miss!
"Hahaha... Yun, this is the first time I've ever seen you struggle."
Shisui, watching from the sidelines, wasn't about to let the chance go by. Still, he offered a suggestion. "Itachi's calculations really are impressive. If you can't manage changing the trajectories, try working on your aim with several kunai at once."
"I think that'll be good enough for you. Everyone has their own fighting style. No one can be good at everything."
Yun thought it over and nodded. After practicing for a while, he asked Shisui, who was beside him, "You've got so much free time after getting back from a mission? Has Uchiha Yashiro not called you to a meeting?"
Shisui glanced at Itachi in the distance, making sure he couldn't hear, then replied, "Ever since Captain Fugaku died, Yashiro has been in charge of the Konoha Military Police Force. He understands the relationship between the Uchiha and the village very clearly."
Yun scoffed. "So the problem is his father, that so-called elder, Uchiha Nanadai?"
Shisui nodded helplessly. "As one of Uchiha Setsuna's followers back then, Elder Nanadai has always belonged to the Hawk Faction. He believes Konoha was founded by the Uchiha and Senju. The Senju have had two Hokage, but the Uchiha haven't had a single one. And they were even..."
Yun sighed and finished for him. "Even pushed to the outskirts of the village, never allowed into the center of power. Some of that goes back to the Second, and some of it is the Uchiha's own fault."
The two chatted for a while, then stopped when Itachi came over.
It was already noon. Just as the three of them were about to grab something to eat, Yun and Itachi suddenly froze.
They exchanged a glance. Shisui asked, "What's wrong?"
Itachi answered, "Looks like I have to head back. Yun probably does too. My Shadow Clone was dispelled."
Yun smiled. "I have to go back too, but my Shadow Clone wasn't turned into smoke. Those upperclassmen got beaten so badly by him that he blew himself up and sent me back to clean up the mess..."
Itachi looked over at him. "You have a lot of Chakra?"
"Not much. Just a tiny bit more than you..."
As if Hashirama Senju's Chakra is something to joke about. My Sage Body is still developing, but once it's ready, I can go catch a couple of Tailed Beasts as pets whenever I want.
At the Ninja Academy, Yun looked at the black-and-blue faces of the big idiots in the infirmary and felt a headache coming on.
There hadn't seemed to be any problems in the memories his Shadow Clone sent back. He would have beaten them up himself, too. But why the hell had the clone gone and picked a fight with the entire upperclass?
Was he trying to rule the kindergarten with his fists?
Yun patted his wallet, wondering whether it could take the hit.
As he thought about it, he glanced at Itachi beside him. As the son of the former Uchiha clan head, he ought to have money, right?
Itachi immediately understood the look. He hurriedly whispered, "Don't ask me. I didn't beat up the entire upperclass, and I don't have any money either."
"Bang!"
The infirmary door flew open with a loud crash.
A group of Chunin and Jonin rushed in, hurrying to comfort their children while glaring angrily at the two Uchiha in the room.
The original had to take the blame for the Shadow Clone. Was he really that overbearing? This was ridiculous!
As Yun quietly took out his wallet, Itachi sighed and whispered, "Pay for me, and I'll teach you the kunai technique. I know a simpler way to calculate it."
You little—what a sly bastard!
After quietly paying the compensation and apologizing several times, Yun and Itachi finally escaped the teachers' lectures.
But when they got to the last two, Yun recognized some familiar faces.
Umino Iruka and Mizuki.
He hadn't expected his Shadow Clone to beat those two up as well. One of them cheerfully asked how he'd trained and why he was so strong.
Mizuki acted as if he didn't care, but Yun could see the hatred lurking in his eyes.
After leaving the school, Yun glanced at Itachi beside him. "This whole mess happened because they wanted revenge on you. If I weren't also an Uchiha, they wouldn't have come after me. So..."
Itachi nodded. "Don't worry. I promise I'll teach you my technique."
After a long silence...
Yun thought it over, then asked, "Itachi, are you poor?"
Itachi looked at Yun, then turned away and fell silent for a moment. "The village funds the Konoha Military Police Force. When my father was alive, he had to account for every single expense. The clan grounds are large, but they're on the outskirts, and ordinary clan members' businesses aren't doing well."
He hadn't said it outright, but Yun understood what he meant.
No wonder the Uchiha had been in debt to Granny Cat for so long in the original story. No wonder Shisui had given Itachi a set of ninja tools a while ago.
The Fourth probably wasn't in charge of the village's finances. Was it Danzo? No, that would be unfair to him. His role in charge of the Root Division was clear.
Utatane Koharu and Mitokado Homura. Then it was probably those two old coots.
At Itachi's front door, a little boy tottered around, peeking outside while clinging to the doorframe.
"Hey, is this your little brother Sasuke?"
Itachi had been smiling at his younger brother, but his expression changed the moment he turned around. "Why haven't you left yet?"
Yun pointed at little Sasuke. "He wet his pants. Aren't you going to change him?"
Itachi hurriedly looked over. Sasuke's crotch was soaked, with a couple of drops still falling.
"Keep an eye on him for me. I'll go get him some pants."
Itachi rushed into the house, not noticing Yun's smile slowly spreading as he walked toward the little Second Pillar.
"Waaah..."
A child barely over a year old couldn't talk yet, and could only bawl to get people's attention.
Itachi came back out with a pair of pants, accompanied by his mother. The sight before them nearly made Itachi draw his sword.
"Wh-what are you doing?!"
Yun glanced at the furious Itachi and replied casually, "I only flicked him once."
Itachi was about to draw his sword, his eyes full of murderous intent.
"Itachi, you're being very rude."
Mikoto's words stopped him, but her eyes clearly promised that Yun would answer for this tomorrow.
Yun declined Itachi's mother's invitation to stay for dinner. He smiled at Sasuke, who had poked his head out, making him cry even harder, then left, satisfied.
When he got home, he found a tuft of hair in a glass bottle.
He wondered whether hair would work. If only he'd deliberately shoved him earlier and made him bleed a little.
There's a recommendation today. It goes up on the fourth, so invest without worry.
