Ch. 41Yu Xiaogang Barbecue

Jiang Bai’s Fire Dragon set Yu Xiaogang and his office ablaze, and Tang San rescued his teacher with water and a urine bucket. Yu Xiaogang survived but discovered that his research notes had burned to ash, while Jiang Bai watched from a restaurant window.

  • Jiang Bai’s Fire Dragon ignited Yu Xiaogang and his bookshelf, then vanished.
  • Tang San rushed in and accidentally paralyzed Yu Xiaogang with his Blue Silver Grass before running to find water.
  • Tang San doused Yu Xiaogang with clean water and urine, extinguished the flames, and dragged him into the corridor.
  • The teachers put out the bookshelf fire, but Yu Xiaogang’s research notes and books were destroyed.
  • Yu Xiaogang blamed the teachers for arriving too late, then collapsed as Tang San supported him.
  • Jiang Bai watched the aftermath from a private room in the restaurant.

Ch. 42Hey! Kid, Stop!

Jiang Bai left Nuoding City, while Jiang Li'er arrived and explored the streets before impulsively attacking Tang San. She fled after striking him, leaving Tang San furious and injured.

  • Jiang Bai summoned the Wind Dragon outside Nuoding City and flew north.
  • Jiang Li'er entered Nuoding City, bought a dragon-shaped sugar figurine, and enjoyed tasting it.
  • Jiang Li'er sensed Tang San approaching and felt an inexplicable urge to attack him.
  • Tang San explained that he was carrying herbs to treat Yu Xiaogang's burns when Jiang Li'er ordered him to stop.
  • Jiang Li'er punched Tang San several times, then fled when he tried to retaliate.
  • Tang San was left with swollen cheeks and raged at Jiang Li'er for attacking him.

Ch. 43I Saw It—He Was Alone

Jiang Li'er beat Tang San, while Bi Ji’s intervention deterred Tang Hao from retaliating. Two and a half months later, Jiang Bai reached Dragon City to prepare for his next Spirit Ring and began searching for Whale Rubber.

  • Jiang Li'er beat Tang San and left before he could question her.
  • Bi Ji blocked Tang Hao’s pressure, then took Jiang Li'er away and urged her to stop causing trouble.
  • Tang Hao decided not to pursue Jiang Li'er after sensing her powerful protector, though he wondered where they had come from.
  • Two and a half months later, Jiang Bai arrived in Dragon City, where he planned to find an ice-element dragon beast for his fourth Spirit Ring.
  • Jiang Bai entered a medicinal shop and asked the clerk for thousand-year and ten-thousand-year Whale Rubber.

Ch. 44Warming Up

Jiang Bai bought Whale Rubber and endured the painful effects of consuming five thousand-year portions followed by a portion of ten-thousand-year Whale Rubber. After the second, more dangerous transformation, his bones, meridians, and internal organs had become much tougher and stronger.

  • Jiang Bai bought five portions of thousand-year Whale Rubber and one portion of ten-thousand-year Whale Rubber, then rented a room at the Cedar Inn for a month.
  • Jiang Bai summoned Fire Dragon to melt the five thousand-year portions and drank the liquid before enduring its heat in an icy bathtub while circulating his Soul Power.
  • After two shichen, Jiang Bai recovered and noticed his scars had faded, his strength had increased, and his meridians had grown broader and tougher.
  • Jiang Bai had Fire Dragon melt the ten-thousand-year Whale Rubber and drank the liquid, underestimating its power.
  • Jiang Bai struggled through intense pain as the Whale Rubber expanded and healed his meridians, then emerged with a jade-like sheen and greatly strengthened bones, meridians, and internal organs.

Ch. 45Icebound Forest

After reaching level forty, Jiang Bai searched the Icebound Forest for a suitable ice-attributed draconic soul beast for his next Spirit Ring. He found several candidates but no ideal target yet, and continued looking for an Ice Dragon.

  • Jiang Bai broke through to level forty after two and a half months of cultivation and prepared to seek a new Spirit Ring.
  • Jiang Bai flew on Wind Dragon to the Icebound Forest and sent Eldest, Second, and himself to search separately for a strong draconic ice soul beast.
  • Jiang Bai encountered Ice Plain Elk and an Ice Giant Python, then found a roughly two-thousand-year-old Frost Dragon Lizard and noted its location before moving on.
  • Jiang Bai and the three dragon beasts searched the forest for several days, finding an Ice Soul Dragon Turtle, Frost Wing Flying Bats, Snow Shadow Leopards, and Aurora Foxes.
  • Jiang Bai spotted a rare Mirror Image Beast but left it alone because he was still seeking an Ice Dragon.

Ch. 46Far North

After searching the Icebound Forest without finding a pure-blooded Ice Dragon, Jiang Bai traveled with Fire Dragon into the Far North. There, he sensed a powerful ice-attributed dragon near a hidden lake, but had not yet found it.

  • Jiang Bai chose to search the Far North after finding only a Frost Earth Dragon in the Icebound Forest.
  • Jiang Bai rode Fire Dragon north into the Far North, where the extreme cold made travel difficult and weakened Fire Dragon.
  • Jiang Bai and Fire Dragon spent two and a half days searching among the Far North’s soul beasts without finding an Ice Dragon.
  • A blizzard forced Jiang Bai and Fire Dragon to shelter in an ice cave before they resumed their search to the east.
  • Jiang Bai sensed a powerful ice-attributed dragon’s aura and followed it to an ice lake hidden among the peaks.

Ch. 47Ice Lake

Jiang Bai found an eight-thousand-year-old Ice Dragon at the Ice Lake and attacked it to claim it as his fourth Spirit Ring. He struck the dragon with Dragon Whisker Needles, leaving it in sudden pain as their fight continued.

  • Jiang Bai spotted the Ice Dragon in its nest and considered how to overcome its home-field advantage and persuade it to become his Spirit Ring.
  • Jiang Bai prepared Dragon Whisker Needles made from Hair Gold and summoned the three dragon beasts to possess him.
  • Jiang Bai approached the Ice Lake and launched a fireball at the waking Ice Dragon, triggering an explosive clash of flame and icy breath.
  • The Ice Dragon took to the air and shattered Jiang Bai's frozen-earth barrier with its icy breath.
  • Jiang Bai charged toward the Ice Dragon and fired three Dragon Whisker Needles into its open mouth, causing it to recoil in pain and terror.

Ch. 48Avalanche

Jiang Bai defeated the Ice Dragon and absorbed it as the Seven Treasures Glazed Pagoda’s fourth Spirit Ring. As he prepared to leave the Far North with the Fire Dragon, a massive avalanche swept down from Xueling Main Peak.

  • Jiang Bai used the Dragon Whisker Needles to distract the Ice Dragon, then struck its left wing with a flaming greatsword and brought it down.
  • Jiang Bai demanded the Ice Dragon sacrifice itself, and the three dragon beasts persuaded it that it would retain its soul and continue cultivating.
  • The Ice Dragon willingly sacrificed itself, and Jiang Bai absorbed its Spirit Ring as the pagoda’s fourth ring.
  • Jiang Bai summoned the Ice Dragon, named it Fourth, and watched it return to the pagoda’s inner space with the other dragon beasts.
  • Jiang Bai mounted the Fire Dragon to leave the Far North, but an enormous avalanche began crashing down from Xueling Main Peak.

Ch. 49Running Away Without Even Calling Me!

After an avalanche, Jiang Bai saved a young Ice Jade Scorpion from a falling boulder, only for the boulder to shatter beside him. Ice Empress appeared, intrigued by Jiang Bai and the four kinds of dragon aura she sensed from him.

  • The avalanche buried the ice plains, leaving injured soul beasts and exposed prey for surviving hunters.
  • Three young Ice Jade Scorpions dug up an Ice Horn Deer, but a heavy ice boulder broke loose and rolled toward them.
  • Jiang Bai held up the boulder and urged the trapped Ice Jade Scorpion to flee, saving it from being crushed.
  • The boulder suddenly shattered into fragments as Jiang Bai eased his strength.
  • Ice Empress appeared beside Jiang Bai and studied him, noticing his unusual power and that he had saved one of her clan's young.

Ch. 50Vowing

Jiang Bai negotiated with the Ice Empress and Snow Empress, offering the location of a Myriad-Year Profound Ice Cave in exchange for ten years of protection and an agreed share of its treasure. After both spirit beasts swore an oath in the name of the Ice God, they set off with him toward the cave.

  • Jiang Bai proposed trading the location of a Myriad-Year Profound Ice Cave for ten years of protection and a share of any Myriad-Year Profound Ice Marrow found there.
  • The Ice Empress considered the offer and questioned whether Jiang Bai feared she would betray him after finding the treasure.
  • The Snow Empress arrived, learned of the proposed trade, and agreed to Jiang Bai's terms.
  • The Snow Empress and Ice Empress swore oaths in the name of the Ice God, binding them to the agreement.
  • The Snow Empress lifted Jiang Bai and the Ice Empress into the air, and they flew south toward the ice cave.

Ch. 51Cold Spring Ice Cave

Jiang Bai brought Snow Empress and Ice Empress to Dragon City to find a hidden Myriad-Year Profound Ice Cave. They discovered the cave and its Myriad-Year Profound Ice Marrow, leaving the promised treasure within reach.

  • Jiang Bai explained that the ice cave lay beneath Dragon City and asked Snow Empress to search for an unusually cold spring.
  • Snow Empress found the spring in a remote corner of the city and led Jiang Bai and Ice Empress down to its bottom.
  • Snow Empress broke through the rock wall and brought them through a pale-blue barrier into a cave filled with Ice Extreme Divine Crystal.
  • Snow Empress sensed a deeper chamber and led the others to several dozen ice pillars filled with Myriad-Year Profound Ice Marrow.

Ch. 52Never Waste

Jiang Bai, Snow Empress, and Ice Empress divided the Myriad-Year Profound Ice Marrows, and Jiang Bai showed them that his Ice Dragon companion needed the treasure to cultivate inside his Martial Soul. Before leaving the destabilizing cave, Snow Empress collected its Ice Extreme Divine Crystals and gave them to Jiang Bai.

  • Ice Empress celebrated the forty-five Myriad-Year Profound Ice Marrows, and Snow Empress took thirty while giving Jiang Bai the remaining fifteen.
  • Ice Empress offered Jiang Bai protection and treasures in exchange for his share, but he refused and fed one marrow to the Ice Dragon in his fourth Spirit Ring.
  • Jiang Bai explained that his companions could continue cultivating inside his Seven Treasures Glazed Pagoda and needed heavenly treasures matching their attributes.
  • Snow Empress warned that the cave would soon collapse, then gathered its Ice Extreme Divine Crystals and gave them to Jiang Bai.
  • Snow Empress led Jiang Bai and Ice Empress out through the pale-blue membrane and back into the freezing spring water.

Ch. 53Sunset Forest

Jiang Bai chose to travel with Snow Empress and Ice Empress to Sunset Forest, where he sought a special location. They found the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, leaving Jiang Bai poised to explore one of the continent’s great treasure basins.

  • Jiang Bai persuaded Snow Empress and Ice Empress to journey across the continent with him instead of returning to the Far North for ten years.
  • Snow Empress flew Jiang Bai and Ice Empress to Sunset Forest after Jiang Bai chose it as their next destination.
  • Jiang Bai asked Snow Empress to search for a mountainous area covered in poisonous gas, and she located a valley about eighty li away.
  • Snow Empress brought Jiang Bai and Ice Empress to a peak overlooking the valley, where they saw a pool divided between milky-white and vermilion waters.
  • Jiang Bai identified the pool as the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, a great treasure basin where the powers of ice and fire gathered.

Ch. 54Ice Empress: I Thought It Was a Speed Bump

Jiang Bai, Snow Empress, and Ice Empress entered the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, where Ice Empress knocked Poison Douluo Dugu Bo unconscious. Jiang Bai began identifying the immortal herbs and planning their distribution, then summoned the Four Dragon Beasts to choose herbs for them.

  • Snow Empress brought Jiang Bai and Ice Empress down to the shore of the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, where Jiang Bai found a valley full of immortal herbs.
  • Dugu Bo confronted the intruders and unleashed poisonous mist, threatening to turn them into fertilizer.
  • Ice Empress struck Dugu Bo with Ice Empress's Pincer, shattered his Martial Soul Avatar, and knocked him unconscious.
  • Jiang Bai surveyed the herbs, selected candidates for himself and the Four Dragon Beasts, and considered keeping the rest as reserves or trade goods.
  • Jiang Bai summoned the Four Dragon Beasts, whose Fire Dragon and Ice Dragon grew excited at the sight of the herbs.

Ch. 55Can a Martial Soul Undergo Tribulation?

Jiang Bai and his four Dragon Beasts consumed suitable immortal herbs at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, and Jiang Bai’s Aromatic Silk Beauty triggered a Martial Soul Heavenly Tribulation. His Seven Treasures Glazed Pagoda absorbed the first lightning strike and began evolving into the Eight Treasures Glazed Pagoda.

  • Jiang Bai gave the Fire Dragon the Infernal Delicate Apricot, the Ice Dragon the Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass, the Earth Dragon three Earth Dragon Golden Melons, and the Wind Dragon the Narcissus Jade Bone.
  • Jiang Bai inhaled the essence of the Aromatic Silk Beauty and circulated his Soul Power to cleanse his body as Snow Empress and Ice Empress soaked in the ice spring.
  • After two and a half hours, a golden tulip-petal halo appeared beneath Jiang Bai’s Seven-Story Glazed Pagoda, and powerful energy erupted from it.
  • Black clouds gathered above the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, and Snow Empress and Ice Empress realized that Jiang Bai’s Martial Soul Evolution had summoned a Heavenly Tribulation.
  • Snow Empress shielded Jiang Bai as a lightning bolt struck the Seven Treasures Glazed Pagoda, which absorbed the lightning and began forming a new tier, evolving into the Eight Treasures Glazed Pagoda.

Ch. 56Moving the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well

Jiang Bai's Martial Soul evolved into the Nine Treasures Glazed Pagoda and swallowed the entire Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well into its transformed inner world. He awakened at level 48 and discovered that the valley and its spring had vanished.

  • Jiang Bai's Eight Treasures Glazed Pagoda endured two lightning bolts and evolved into the Nine Treasures Glazed Pagoda.
  • The Nine Treasures Glazed Pagoda's golden vortex pulled Ice Empress, Snow Empress, the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, and the surrounding valley into its inner world.
  • Ice Empress and Snow Empress found the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well and the Four Dragon Beasts inside Jiang Bai's vast inner world, where the energies had become balanced.
  • Jiang Bai awakened at level 48 after absorbing the Aromatic Silk Beauty and saw that the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well had disappeared from the valley.

Ch. 57Dugu Bo's Confusion

After the Aromatic Silk Beauty evolved Jiang Bai’s Martial Soul into the Nine Treasures Glazed Pagoda, it absorbed the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well and most of its herbs into its own space. Jiang Bai left for Silvers City with Snow Empress and Ice Empress, while Dugu Bo woke to find his valley gone and read Jiang Bai’s note.

  • Jiang Bai discovered that the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well had been replaced by a massive pit and learned from Snow Empress and Ice Empress that the well and most of its herbs were inside his Martial Soul.
  • Snow Empress and Ice Empress emerged from the Nine Treasures Glazed Pagoda, and Snow Empress said they would live in its cultivation space and communicate with Jiang Bai when needed.
  • Jiang Bai left Dugu Bo a note, then departed Sunset Forest for Silvers City with Snow Empress; Ice Empress chased after them when Snow Empress forgot to take her along.
  • Dugu Bo woke, saw that the valley’s spring and herbs were gone, read Jiang Bai’s note, and flew back to Heaven Dou City.
  • A withered old man arrived at the valley, examined the enormous pit, and flew away.

Ch. 58Knowing the Truth

Qian Renxue trained fiercely with Golden Crocodile and asked him about Bibi Dong’s past. He began recounting Bibi Dong’s upbringing and her relationship with Yu Xiaogang, then started to reveal what Qian Xunji did to her.

  • Qian Renxue fought Golden Crocodile for an hour, pressing him with Soul Skills and sword attacks while he blocked, dodged, and offered guidance.
  • Golden Crocodile worried that Qian Renxue’s grief over Jiang Bai’s death and her obsession with revenge were driving her toward a dangerous path.
  • Qian Renxue asked Golden Crocodile to tell her about Bibi Dong’s past, and he agreed because he believed she would investigate if he refused.
  • Golden Crocodile explained that Qian Daoliu had brought the orphan Bibi Dong to Spirit City, where Qian Xunji made her his disciple and Spirit Hall’s Saintess.
  • Golden Crocodile said Bibi Dong fell in love with Yu Xiaogang, whom Qian Xunji forcibly separated from her, then began to explain what Qian Xunji did next.

Ch. 59Qian Renxue: I Have to See What He's Made Of

After learning how Qian Renxue was conceived and how Bibi Dong treated her, Qian Renxue decided to take revenge while investigating Yu Xiaogang and Bibi Dong’s actions. She ordered Yu Xiaogang’s Spirit Hall subsidies stopped and began writing an article refuting his theories, leaving her determined to challenge both his influence and the continent’s worsening problems.

  • Golden Crocodile told Qian Renxue that her father had forced himself on Bibi Dong, but Qian Renxue rejected sympathy for Bibi Dong and vowed to kill her for Jiang Bai’s sake.
  • Qian Renxue ordered a maid to investigate Yu Xiaogang and reviewed a dossier detailing his background and connection to Bibi Dong.
  • Qian Renxue ordered the Nuoding City Spirit Hall Branch to stop Yu Xiaogang’s Soul Master subsidies and confiscate his Elder Token if he used it to pressure them.
  • After reading reports of rising Fallen Soul Master crimes, Qian Renxue suspected Bibi Dong might be tolerating or using the criminals.
  • Qian Renxue read the Ten Core Competencies of Martial Soul, judged its theories flawed, and began writing an article to refute them.

Ch. 60Yu Xiaogang's Anger

Qian Renxue arranged for Jiang Xue’er’s critique of Yu Xiaogang’s Ten Core Competencies to be published across the continent. Yu Xiaogang read the booklet, became enraged by its arguments and accusations of plagiarism, and tore it apart.

  • Qian Renxue presented her manuscript and Pontiff Token to the bookstore owner, who agreed to publish it within five days.
  • Yu Xiaogang read Jiang Xue’er’s article, which challenged his theories with detailed arguments and accused him of plagiarizing Spirit Hall materials.
  • Yu Xiaogang discovered the author’s name and angrily rejected her criticism, insisting that his use of the materials was not theft.
  • Yu Xiaogang tore the booklet to pieces and, after calming down, glared at the pages with venomous intent.
