"What a sharp dagger!"
"Your violet sword is even more extraordinary; is it a divine artifact?"
Linley did not answer. A streak of violet sword light swept across, and Jonathan tapped his toes, his figure retreating violently.
"Two years ago, your warrior strength was at most level four or five. I never expected that two years later, you would have activated the Dragonblood bloodline and reached level eight after dragon-transforming."
"The Dragonblood Warrior, truly worthy of being one of the four ultimate warriors."
Linley said, "Then aren't you even more impressive? Relying on yourself, you reached the mid-stage of level eight at nineteen, and your speed is astonishing."
Jonathan smiled slightly. A suit of armor appeared on his body, and then a pale yellow luster began to emerge on its surface. He actually floated into the air.
"Levitation spell?! No, it's an Anti-Gravity Spell! But why is it being emitted from the armor?"
Doering reminded him, "It's a magic array, and an optimized miniature one at that. What a genius idea; his comprehension is truly breathtaking!"
"However, even with the support of anti-gravity, you are ultimately no match for true flight speed!"
Linley utilized magic and cast a speed-enhancing spell on himself, his speed increasing by several notches in an instant.
The two clashed fiercely once again.
Linley was right; although Jonathan possessed the Anti-Gravity Spell, which allowed him to float and even move flexibly in the air by utilizing certain physical force techniques, it was ultimately inferior to a true flight spell.
To prevent Linley from getting too close, Jonathan began to cast magic as well. Earth-type stone spikes, dark-type Poison Blade, Shadow Mist, and more were thrown out as if magic power were endless.
Bebe watched from afar, constantly cheering for Linley.
Beat the hell out of him!
After dragon-transforming, even a level nine warrior would find it hard to kill Linley. The sturdy defense of his scales could not be broken by an ordinary level eight warrior.
"Gravity Field, tenfold!"
"Hum~"
A strange sound rang out, and the entire backyard was engulfed in the gravity field. Doering was a soul entity and remained unaffected, but Bebe, caught off guard, slammed face-first into the ground.
Linley's body sank, and he fell directly to the ground. At that very moment, a black shadow flashed by. A black dagger grazed past Linley's eyes, tearing the scales at his neck and exposing the fragile skin beneath.
"You lost!"
Linley found it inconceivable, "A level eight Gravity Spell, and you can cast it instantly? And under such gravity, why are you unaffected?"
"I am also an earth-type mage. Gravity spells are magic that doesn't distinguish between friend and foe!"
Jonathan smiled slightly, "That is my secret. I won't pry into yours, and there is no need for you to dig into mine. You only need to understand that you lost!"
Linley was stunned, then sighed slightly, and his dragon-transformed state vanished instantly, "I lost."
"Although I don't know how you did it, your gravity spell seems somewhat different. I wasn't at a low altitude, but when the spell was activated, I truly felt a gravity comparable to level eight, yet you were completely unaffected."
"With a trick like this, I doubt many people below the Saint level could deal with you."
Jonathan said, "You aren't bad yourself!"
"Among the four ultimate warriors, the Dragonblood Warrior is the most balanced: sturdy defense, extreme speed, and immense strength. There are almost no weaknesses. You reached the early stage of level eight after a level six dragon-transformation; when you reach level seven, wouldn't you be able to reach level nine?"
"If you add magic to that, I'm afraid even level nine powerhouses wouldn't be able to take you down!"
The two looked at each other and smiled simultaneously; everything was understood without words.
In this battle, aside from holding back the Gravity Field and not using the Heavy as Light momentum, he had already given it his all.
"Defeat is defeat; saying anything more is useless!"
"You are like me, cultivating both magic and martial arts. Since you have a Magic Beast, that is also part of your combat strength!"
A black streak of light flashed, and Bebe appeared on his shoulder, squeaking twice as if agreeing with Jonathan's words, then squeaked at Linley, urging him to fight again.
Linley patted his head and shook it, "Let's wait until Jonathan also tames a Magic Beast."
"Then you'll be waiting a long time. I believe in my own strength. Most Magic Beasts, even if tamed, can't keep up with my growth and would end up just running errands. They might be useful as mounts, though."
"Squeak squeak~"
Bebe looked very indignant; it was clearly cursing Jonathan.
The intense battle had left the backyard in a mess, with cracks, water stains, broken rockery, and wood debris scattered everywhere.
After the battle ended, the two drank tea and chatted for a while.
Not long after, Jonathan said, "Linley, I've been out for quite a while. Let's meet again when there's a chance!"
"Next time we meet, I won't lose to you again." Linley looked full of confidence.
"Perhaps."
Jonathan didn't look back, waved his hand, and left directly.
Shelton came over and asked, "Young Master, is that person your close friend?"
"No."
Linley was a genius of the Holy Union, while Jonathan was from the Dark Alliance. Their stances were different, especially at this critical juncture. If he admitted it, it would only bring trouble to himself and the other party.
"Shelton, I'm going to cultivate. Find someone to repair the backyard; make sure it's taken care of in the next few days."
"Yes, Young Master!"
Shelton arrived in the courtyard and, seeing the state it was in, couldn't help but freeze for a moment.
What kind of battle could have caused such a miserable sight?
Back at the Delihua Hotel, Wesport questioned Jonathan.
"I saw him, but the moment I offered to recruit him, he refused flat out. Linley is a man of the Holy Union; his roots are here. Even if he doesn't join the Light Church, he won't choose us."
"Sigh, just as I thought," Wesport said. "However, since we are destined to be enemies in the future, it is better to eliminate such a genius early."
"The cost will only be greater once he grows up."
"You are wise, my lord. When should we make a move? Do you need me to intervene?"
Wesport took a deep look at Jonathan and gave a sinister smile. "Feeling the pressure, are you?"
Jonathan gave a cold laugh. "An era does not need two equally brilliant geniuses!"
"Ruthless enough. I like it; that makes you suitable to join my Dark Alliance."
"But you don't need to worry about this matter; I will handle it myself. I am satisfied just knowing you have this intent. After some time, when you officially join the Dark Church, there will naturally be missions assigned to you."
Jonathan put on a submissive expression. "Understood, my lord."
He knew that Wesport had brought him along with the intention of observing him, so he had acted extremely respectful throughout the journey.
If he could find an opportunity, he could kill them both in an all-out fight.
But if he waited a little longer, his chances would be even greater.
There was also Gilmer, who was also on his hit list; he was considering whether to kill him before leaving.
"If a good opportunity arises."
A flash of red light flickered in his eyes, and he closed them to begin cultivating in his room.
