"That can't be right. Jonathan seems to be only two years older than you. He couldn't have reached Level Seven Mage much earlier than you did."
"You only have this kind of strength because you awakened your Dragonblood Warrior bloodline. How could he have killed six Special Grade Deacons of the Light Church? They were all ninth-level powerhouses."
"Even you were on the brink of death."
Hearing Yale's words, Linley smiled. "That's what made him so clever. Everyone thought that was the extent of his strength, but in truth, he probably reached Level Seven when he was sixteen or even younger. His strength as a warrior was nearly on par with his magic."
"Whoa. If that's true, then he really is the number-one genius on the Yulan Continent!"
"Exactly. Jonathan knew that a tree standing taller than the forest would be struck by the wind, so he deliberately kept his abilities hidden."
"He really is... a schemer."
While Yale and Linley talked, Jonathan chatted with Doehring.
They communicated through their souls, one way of using soul power.
"A Saint Magus in soul form. It seems you were a peak Saint Realm mage when you were alive. May I ask your name?"
"Doering Cowart. A pleasure to meet you, Jonathan."
"Senior Doering, you've been with Linley all this time, so you were the one who told him about my strength?"
"That's right." Doering admitted it frankly. "I can't imagine what opportunity you had that allowed your soul to transform to the Saint Realm so early. If you had enough magical power, I suspect you could already cast forbidden spells."
"I haven't tried, but probably."
"Remarkable. In all my life, I've never met a mage with talent like yours. Even my prized pupil, Linley, falls far short by comparison."
Jonathan smiled faintly.
