"Interesting. Very interesting!"
Nack narrowed his eyes at Huosi and the others. He really hadn't expected three mere Lowgods to block his attack.
Among Midgods, his strength was considered quite respectable.
Nack had only wanted to vent some of his anger, so he'd casually attacked the people below a few times.
Whether the people in the Material Plane and those three Lowgods lived or died was none of his concern.
As a member of the Four Divine Beasts Clan, he'd killed so many people he couldn't even remember the number.
But what surprised him was that one of the Lowgods had actually blocked his attack. That made things rather interesting.
"I've never failed to kill anyone I wanted dead, let alone a few Lowgods."
A cruel smile crept across Nack's face as he looked coldly at Huosi and the other two.
He was already in a bad mood, so he might as well amuse himself with these three Lowgods. Being killed by him would be an honor for them.
In the next moment, Earth Element divine power gathered rapidly. A huge earth giant appeared in the sky, swinging its enormous fist toward Huosi and the others.
"Damn it!"
Huosi cursed under his breath. A massive cannon barrel appeared in his right hand, and a pale blue laser shot straight into the sky, instantly blowing the giant to pieces.
"Oh? What's that? An artifact? Interesting."
Nack narrowed his eyes. It seemed this artifact was rather special. It could actually break through his attack!
"Kid, hand over your artifact. That way, you can at least die quickly."
Watching this, Metamor glanced at Huosi and spoke in a calm voice.
The artifact on this kid seemed special. He could take it back and play around with it.
As members of the Four Divine Beasts Clan, they'd seen plenty of artifacts, but never one like this. It might be fun to bring it back and examine it.
If Huosi handed over the artifact, they could show mercy and give him a quick death.
As for whether someone with an artifact like this might have powerful connections—what a joke. When it came to connections, the Four Divine Beasts Clan had never feared anyone.
"What are you supposed to be? If you want my artifact, you'll have to trade your life for it!"
Huosi cursed him outright, not caring about anyone's background or the Four Divine Beasts Clan. Whoever wanted to kill him would pay the price.
Since arriving in the Coiling Dragon World, Huosi had never been this angry. He could barely contain his fury.
He'd braced himself for the Four Divine Beasts Clan to act arrogantly, but what they'd done today had still infuriated him. This went beyond simply being unreasonable.
They were worse than the bandits in Hell. At least bandits usually just robbed you.
The Four Divine Beasts Clan wanted more than your money. They wanted your life too, and they even told you that dying by their hands was an honor.
"Hmm? Kid, looks like you're choosing to be tortured to death!"
Hearing Huosi reject his "kind offer" and even insult him, Metamor's expression turned cold. He clenched his fist.
The kid had rejected his "merciful" proposal and spoken rudely to him. There was no need to hold back now. He'd make the kid wish he were dead.
"Looks like they don't appreciate your kindness, Metamor."
Nack's voice was mocking, tinged with amusement.
As Nack spoke, the others had already surrounded Huosi and the other two. Even the man guarding the teleportation array had joined them.
The array had only been guarded to keep Sean from escaping. Now that Sean was dead, there was no need.
They didn't care about these three Lowgods. The idea of Lowgods escaping their encirclement was a pipe dream.
If three Lowgods escaped a group of Midgods and fled through the teleportation array, they'd never be able to show their faces in the clan again.
"Fine. You asked for this!"
Huosi took a deep breath and quietly searched through his Spatial Storage System.
"Oh? And what can you do about it?" Nack rubbed his hands together, teasing him without a care. He wasn't in a hurry to attack.
Instead, he put his hands on his hips, signaling that Huosi could do whatever he wanted. He could use any tricks he liked.
Watching their opponents use every means at their disposal and still fail to change the outcome was a wonderful feeling.
He really wanted to see the three Lowgods fly into a helpless rage. Being fooled by Sean had improved his mood considerably.
But in the next moment, his pupils suddenly contracted, and his mouth fell slightly open.
A massive light erupted around Huosi and, in an instant, enveloped the entire world.
Before Nack could react, he felt space being torn apart. A force hurled him away, and the Spatial Turbulence tore his body to shreds. His consciousness then vanished.
"Ah!"
In the Underworld, at the Four Divine Beasts Clan's stronghold, Nack Bowen sat bolt upright.
What had just happened? His Midgod clone had actually been killed.
Only now did he understand what had happened. That Lowgod had used some unknown method to tear apart the surrounding space on a massive scale. In the end, the Spatial Turbulence had shredded them all.
"Damn it! Damn it!"
Nack's roar echoed for a thousand miles, startling everyone in the clan who heard it.
Even now, Nack couldn't understand what had happened. How had a Lowgod unleashed such a powerful attack in an instant?
The space in a Material Plane was weak, but that didn't mean a Lowgod should have been able to wreck it like that.
Saint Magi could create cracks in space, of course. A Wind Saint Magus could do it with Dimensional Blade.
But those were only tiny cracks. In that instant, the space around them had been completely destroyed.
Even Nack couldn't pull off an attack like that. The area it covered was simply too vast.
After venting for a few minutes, Nack realized he no longer had time to dwell on it.
He'd gotten himself into serious trouble. He was the only one on the mission with a clone outside the Underworld. Everyone else had lost all their clones.
Even if he outranked them, he couldn't shoulder responsibility for a disaster this immense. At the end of the day, he was only a Midgod—or rather, now he was a Lowgod.
He'd led a group to hunt down a Midgod from the Barbary Clan, only for the entire group to be wiped out.
Worst of all, it hadn't been Sean Barbary who killed them. A Lowgod had used some unknown means to do it.
That Lowgod had acted because Nack was in a bad mood and had decided to kill him. Who could have guessed the kid had a way to take them all down with him?
Nack shuddered. He couldn't imagine the clan's fury if he reported what had really happened.
After thinking it over for a long time, he came up with a plan. Perhaps he could pin everything on the Barbary Clan.
He was the only one who'd returned alive. He just had to say that after they killed Sean, they'd all been suddenly killed before they could react.
The clan would immediately suspect that a powerful Highgod had intervened and killed them all in an instant.
And in that situation, the Highgod who'd appeared there was most likely from the Barbary Clan.
While Nack was thinking about how to evade responsibility,
back in the Yulan Plane, three figures appeared in a flash from the teleportation array. Huosi looked rather pale.
"My lord, are you all right?"
Adkins was the first to ask, his voice filled with concern.
"I'm fine. I just need to rest."
Huosi held the Midgod spark he'd snatched at the last moment and rubbed his temples as he replied in a low voice.
Just then, Huosi had activated an emergency teleportation system, a branch of his research into spatial portals. It was one of his greatest trump cards. It could open a portal instantly and send them straight back to the Yulan Plane.
The only problem was that it consumed far too many resources. In that instant, he'd used up half the resources he'd collected from thousands of Material Planes just to get the three of them out. Otherwise, they would've been swept into the Spatial Turbulence too.
Damn the Four Divine Beasts Clan! Go play in the Spatial Turbulence!
Huosi cursed them silently.
Just now, Huosi had detonated all 3,600 Super Nuclear Bombs stored in his rings inside the Spatial Storage System.
These weren't the same nuclear bombs he'd used against Lowgods before. They were the most powerful bombs he could currently produce.
A single bomb wasn't powerful enough to kill a Midgod, but it could still injure one. During the previous test, they'd even torn open a crack in space.
This time, to give those bastards from the Four Divine Beasts Clan a surprise, Huosi had thrown away nearly ten thousand years of accumulated resources. He'd made sure the space around them would shatter on a massive scale and sweep every one of those bastards into the turbulence.
Huosi was in a foul mood, and so was the Four Divine Beasts Clan.
At that moment, in the Azure Dragon Hall, a stern man with flowing blue-green hair gazed down at the person kneeling before him.
"You just said the Barbary Clan secretly sent people to assassinate our clansmen?"
Gaiselesen's voice was icy, brimming with fury.
"Yes, Patriarch. According to the news from the Underworld, the people who went after Sean Barbary were wiped out. Nack Bowen, the only one with a clone outside the Underworld, said that they killed Sean Barbary without suffering any casualties."
"Then, in the next instant, before any of them could react, they all died. So he suspects that a Highgod from the Barbary Clan had secretly followed Sean."
"That Highgod may have been afraid of our clan and was ready to abandon Sean Barbary. But when he saw Sean die, he changed his mind and attacked in a fit of rage."
"Bang!"
Gaiselesen abruptly rose to his feet and smashed the table in front of him with one slap. Fury blazed in his eyes.
"The Barbary Clan. What a Barbary Clan! We showed you mercy last time and gave you a chance to survive, but you didn't value it. If that's how it is, then the Barbary Clan has no reason to exist!"
In truth, Gaiselesen had his doubts. He didn't quite believe the Barbary Clan would dare act this way now.
But since his clansmen had died while hunting Sean Barbary, the Barbary Clan would have to take responsibility.
Evidence? The Four Divine Beasts Clan didn't need evidence to kill!
