Ripples like those on a lake surface emerged; it was the same warehouse in Raccoon City, and a spacious silver-gray aircraft passed through the ripples to enter this world.

On the other side of the gate, Tony, clad in his Iron Man suit, found that his sixth measuring instrument still hadn't detected the external conditions for the portal's appearance, and he couldn't help but quip, "If God isn't playing a joke on me, I shouldn't have failed this time."

After his remark, he passed through the Cross-World Gate and arrived in the Resident Evil world.

The aircraft turned and taxied to the open ground outside the warehouse. The sports car that had been parked there was gone, and the few corpses inside the warehouse had also vanished; they had likely been cleared away by Umbrella personnel.

In the Marvel world, the sun was shining brightly over New York, and the weather was fair.

In the Resident Evil world, however, Raccoon City was shrouded in dark clouds and billowing smoke.

After stepping outside the warehouse, they couldn't see a single ray of sunlight; the sky was gloomy, as if foreshadowing that something terrible was about to happen.

Upon arriving in the Resident Evil world, Tony immediately used his armor to begin hacking into the world's network.

With his computer expertise, he quickly adjusted for the subtle differences between the two worlds' networks and successfully connected to the Raccoon City local area network.

Yes, Tony could only connect to the local network here. Communications outside of Raccoon City were currently blocked, and since he didn't have any satellites in this world, he was restricted to the city limits.

"Duncan, the information for this Raccoon City seems to have been cut off." As he spoke, Tony began hacking into more electronic devices, gaining control of those ancient security cameras, and saw people scurrying wildly through the streets.

Da-da-da!

After Steve and the others stepped off the Quinjet, a helicopter happened to fly overhead.

Everyone looked up in unison and saw the striking Umbrella Corporation logo on the black helicopter.

Duncan, who had stepped off the plane with them, glanced briefly at the helicopter flying into the distance, then looked at Tony, who was standing motionless, and asked, "Tony, have you connected to the internal network of the Umbrella Corporation?"

Tony didn't speak. Under the gloomy sky, his armor's helmet projected a holographic screen displaying footage from several still-functioning cameras on the streets of Raccoon City.

The hologram drew everyone's attention. In the footage, the most common sight was crowds of people running in one direction, and among these fleeing crowds were "people" moving slowly with stiff, awkward movements.

"This... these wouldn't happen to be zombies, would they?" Fearing the others couldn't see the screen clearly, Tony specifically zoomed in on the feeding scenes, which were deeply unsettling.

The sight of humans eating humans was incredibly shocking; anyone seeing it for the first time would surely be unable to handle it.

Duncan's mouth hung wide open beneath his gas mask, and he blurted out, "The timing is wrong, the timing doesn't match!"

Isaac had said it would take about a year to prepare; how could the Raccoon City crisis have started so quickly?

Were they hiding in the cryo-chambers of the underground Hive?

If the timing was off, could the location be off too?

If Isaac wasn't hiding beneath the Hive, Duncan's plan to save the world would fail, and his grand dream of taking over a complete Umbrella Corporation would be shattered.

No, he had to speed up his actions and find Isaac immediately!

He also had to capture the scientist who invented the T-Virus and put him to work; he couldn't let such talent get away.

He might just be a clone, but a clone's knowledge was still knowledge, and his brain wasn't much different from an ordinary person's.

Duncan immediately said, "Isaac must have moved his plan forward. We have to act fast, or this city might be destroyed by a nuclear bomb!"

Hearing his words, everyone felt a chill in their hearts. A weapon of mass destruction like a nuclear bomb, actually being dropped on a city of over a hundred thousand people—the Umbrella Corporation was truly audacious!

Even Tony, who had witnessed the U.S. government drop a nuke on Manhattan, couldn't help but comment heavily, "The situation hasn't even reached that point, yet they're dropping a nuke? They're even crazier than the Joker at a carnival party."

Watching the panicked citizens on the surveillance footage, Steve felt equally heavy. He gripped his shield and began assigning tasks, "Natasha, Tony, let's go to the Hive together. Sam and James, you protect Duncan. If our signals are cut off once we go underground, we'll leave the underground at night. Can we move out?"

Duncan nodded at Steve, finding the arrangement reasonable, and reminded them, "All facilities beneath the Hive are controlled by artificial intelligence. There's a laser corridor in the main server room; be careful if you don't want to be sliced into pieces."

"No one knows artificial intelligence better than I do!" Tony replied, showing off his expertise.

Then they set off. Tony took flight to scout ahead, while Steve and Natasha went to find a vehicle to drive over.

"Boss, we're heading out too!" Bark and the other six nodded solemnly at Duncan. Although their faces were hidden behind gas masks, the gravity of the moment was clear in their voices.

They were going to retrieve their families living in Raccoon City. They had just contacted them by phone; five of them had reached their families, but Bark and Kevin had not, and they were currently burning with anxiety.

Duncan nodded as well, stepped forward to pat Bark on the shoulder, and said softly, "Go."

After the seven of them left, he raised the watch he had been carrying since he first arrived in the Resident Evil world; it showed the time as 14:31.

There was still plenty of time, and Duncan wasn't the type to sit still. He immediately decided to take James for a stroll through the city to see if they could run into the heroine, Alice.

"Wait!" Seeing that Duncan was about to leave, Sam, who had been left behind to protect him, couldn't stay calm. "You're just going to leave like this? If you run into any danger and die, how are we supposed to get back!"

"Oh! Almost forgot, I should indeed be more cautious."

Duncan slapped his forehead. He had been a bit too excited about returning to Raccoon City and had forgotten the necessary caution.

He opened a Cross-World Gate on the door of the warehouse office. Once done, he spoke into his micro-earpiece, "The warehouse office door is the entrance back. I'm going into the city to find some people now. If I run into any trouble, you can return through that door."

Agent Hill, who was tinkering with a computer inside the Quinjet, heard the broadcast and couldn't help but sigh, rubbing her forehead. She knew that if Duncan was going to be this reckless, she should have let Fury send more people to protect him.

No one could talk Duncan out of anything; he was a man who couldn't stand being bored. The fact that he had once gone on a trip, stumbled into a criminal den, and been hacked to death—leading to his transmigration—was proof enough of that.

Perhaps because the virus was released early without checking the weather forecast, the sky grew increasingly gloomy today as Duncan wandered through the city with James and the others, along with Sam.

The direction he was heading was toward the Kendo Gun Shop.

A month ago, he had ordered a batch of firearms, thinking he would use them for the grand development of other worlds. After discovering he had arrived in the Marvel world, he hadn't paid much attention to that order.

Now that he was back in Raccoon City, Duncan naturally had to check on his reserved weapons, and incidentally, see if he could run into Alice.

In the movie, she seemed to have stumbled into a gun shop to get her starting gear; perhaps that shop was the Kendo Gun Shop!
