Yunlin and Yunbing returned home.
At the alchemy grounds, while Green Lady was remaking Yaoqing's body, Yaoqing suddenly sensed the place beneath that starry sky within him where the Nine-Leaf Grass existed. A flash of displeasure passed through Green Lady's eyes. "A devil has emerged in your family."
"Yunbing!"
Li Yaoqing immediately panicked. Yet when he tried to return his consciousness to his body, his mind swam, and he could only sit there weakly, staring at Green Lady. His nephew had clearly disobeyed him and secretly become a devil. He had wanted to teach his two nephews a lesson, but what right did he have to discipline children?
Green Lady froze for a moment. "Aren't you going to do something?"
In her eyes, devils were more vile than immortals. At least in the era she had lived in, those devil lords had devoured the world—and immortals too.
Sitting on the ground, Li Yaoqing looked numb and faintly helpless. "What can I do? I don't like immortal powers in the slightest, but now I'm actually a little relieved. Yunbing should be the same as me."
"Relieved?" Green Lady could not see the slightest sign of relief in Li Yaoqing's eyes.
"Back when we were in the village, refugees wanted our lives. We had to pick up blades. When I killed people, Father and Mother didn't say anything. They definitely wouldn't say anything now either. I know their temperaments—they would only blame themselves for being unable to protect us children."
Li Yaoqing rested his chin on his knees. "Later, I gradually came to understand Father and Mother. No one wants their child's hands stained with blood, doing things children should never have to do."
"But sometimes children become people we no longer recognize. That person may even be who we once were.
