Hatake waved a hand. "It's not too early. I'm terrible at cooking, so if any of you know how, come help me out in the kitchen."

Rin and Obito volunteered and followed Hatake to the kitchen.
Kakashi, meanwhile, found a reasonably clean stool in the yard, brushed off the dust, and sat down.
His only task was to wait for the food to arrive.
When he had nothing else to do, he flipped through Sakumo's belongings to pass the time.
From a distance, he could hear the three in the kitchen roaring at one another as if they were in the middle of a battle.
"Looks like I was right not to go in."
Kakashi's cooking skills were limited to boiling noodles. He could barely do anything else.
So he figured he'd better not get in the way. Sitting here was just fine.
After about ten minutes, the noise gradually died down. He turned his head and saw Obito carrying in the first dish.
"Look, I made this: shredded potatoes stir-fried with shredded ginger. It's refreshing and great for cooling off. Give it a try."
