Danitz asked curiously, "How are you going to sink that pirate ship?"
"Wait until it's within cannon range? By then, we'll be in range of its cannons too."
"Or are you planning to teleport straight onto their ship and slaughter everyone aboard?"
Cyril did not answer. He patted Danitz on the shoulder, rose from his seat, and stretched. "Let's go to the deck and see whether their bounties are worth my time."
"Do I have to go too?" Danitz pointed at himself, looking reluctant.
"Do you expect me to know every pirate and their bounty?"
Without giving Danitz a chance to argue, Cyril placed his hands on both men's shoulders. An illusory book appeared in his eyes.
The next second, the three of them vanished from the dining room like figures fading from an oil painting.
They appeared silently at the bow. The crew members standing by on deck stared in shock and instinctively raised their rifles.
A bead of cold sweat rolled down Danitz's forehead as so many rifles pointed at him. He hurriedly raised his hands and shouted, "Wait! We're passengers!"
The next second, a profound, indescribable pressure erupted behind him. It felt as though someone who held every life on deck in his hands had turned his gaze upon them. Danitz's heart hammered, and his body grew sluggish.
An inexplicable fear rose in everyone on deck. They wanted to lower their heads, prostrate themselves, listen to his every word, and obey his every command.
"Lower your rifles. Keep quiet and watch from the side."
At Cyril's words, the crew members lowered their rifles in unison and stood where they were, heads bowed.
Danitz swallowed shakily. His body still struggled beneath that terrifying authority, but his thoughts had begun moving again.
