Ch. 242Spirit Channeling

Cyril infiltrated a ritual site on Bansy Island, using Steve to control Fraser while he searched for the remains of a murdered investigator. Through Spirit Channeling, he learned that the investigator, Born Walker, had uncovered the Church of Storms’ connection to the island’s bloody rituals before losing control after seeing something about Cyril.

  • Cyril knocked Fraser unconscious with Steve’s Painting Scroll, then had Steve possess Fraser and answer the call from outside.
  • Steve, controlling Fraser, followed another black-cloaked cultist toward the ritual while Cyril instructed him to avoid participating and remember the ritual’s details.
  • Cyril used the Dowsing Pathfinding Method and a deep-blue door to search the rooms, finding a confinement chamber saturated with resentment and strange symbols.
  • Cyril located a room containing glass vessels of dark-red flesh and used the paper portrait to restore the Painting’s missing part.
  • Cyril performed Spirit Channeling and learned that Born Walker, a Mystery Pryer from the Moses Ascetic Order, had investigated the rituals and discovered their link to the Church of Storms.
  • Cyril learned that Born Walker had been pursued by the Mandated Punishers and lost control after his Eyes of Mystery Prying showed him a reality about Cyril.

Ch. 243"Living Sacrifice"

Cyril interrupted a cult ritual on Bansy Island, killed the cultists preparing live sacrifices, and rescued Peer Moore and the other captives. He learned Peer had been separated from his family after shopping and abducted for an offering to a god.

  • Cyril reasoned that the Moses Ascetic Order might be interested in Bansy Island and considered impersonating Born Walker to obtain a Mystical Item.
  • When cultists brought live sacrifices into the next room, Cyril used a coin toss to choose to kill the cultists preparing them.
  • Cyril entered through a ghostly door, incapacitated the cultists with Mental Piercing, and recognized Peer Moore among the captives.
  • A mutated cultist attacked Cyril from behind, but Cyril escaped with Flaming Jump and killed the attacker with recorded light and Air Bullets.
  • Cyril cut the captives free and asked Peer how he had been taken; Peer said he was abducted after becoming separated from his family while shopping.

Ch. 244Bloodstained Sacrifice

Cyril led Peer and the rescued captives toward the cultists’ ritual, then attacked the altar and fought the mutated worshippers. As the battle escalated, Steve’s Zombies failed to stop the headless corpses, and Steve called for help.

  • Cyril freed Peer and offered the other captives a choice, then left with Peer to find the cultists’ ritual altar.
  • Cyril extinguished the altar’s candle with an Air Bullet, disrupting the ritual and provoking the cultists to mutate and attack.
  • Cyril used the Sun Domain’s holy light, golden flames, Sun Halo, and a dawn spell to burn the cultists and weaken the blood-colored mist.
  • Four cultists transformed into flying heads and headless, rust-covered bodies; Cyril evaded them with Flaming Jump and wielded the Sword of Dawn to destroy a head.
  • Steve revealed himself among the cultists and raised the fallen as Zombies, but the Zombies barely slowed the headless corpses.
  • With his last Zombie nearly destroyed, Steve shouted for his master to help.

Ch. 245The End

Cyril rescued Peer from cultists worshipping the God of Weather and destroyed the monsters in their basement. He brought Peer back to the White Agate, where Peer reunited with his family, while Cyril spoke with Elland and then joined Hermes on deck.

  • Cyril fought off the headless corpses and used the Sword of Dawn to destroy the monsters in the basement.
  • Cyril warned Peer to keep what he had witnessed secret and took him directly back to the White Agate.
  • Peer reunited with his mother and sister on the ship, and Elland told Cyril that Mr. Moore was still searching for Peer.
  • Cyril told Elland he had found Peer among cultists worshipping the God of Weather and asked how soon the Church of Storms might notice trouble.
  • Cyril sat beside Hermes on deck, while Elland forgot their conversation and wondered if exhaustion had made him imagine it.

Ch. 246Hermes's Reminder

Hermes speculated that Adam had engineered the crisis on Bansy Island to buy Cyril time and clear obstacles, then agreed to help Cyril if the situation worsened and later influence a Moses Ascetic Order member. Mr. Moore reunited with Peer, who planned to leave the island, and thanked Cyril for saving him.

  • Hermes explained that Adam may have created urgency to buy Cyril time and help him investigate the secret connected to the City of Calamity.
  • Cyril told Hermes about the City of Calamity, Bansy's contamination, and the God of Weather's sacrifices, then asked Hermes for help if the island's situation spiraled out of control and for later assistance against a Moses Ascetic Order member.
  • Hermes agreed to Cyril's requests and marveled that Cyril was already considering a Demigod as a target at Sequence 6.
  • Mr. Moore returned to the ship and questioned Peer about his disappearance, then grew angry when he learned Peer had been kidnapped by cloaked people.
  • Peer asked to leave Bansy Island as soon as possible, and Mr. Moore promised they would depart the next morning.
  • Mr. Moore thanked Cyril for rescuing Peer.

Ch. 247That's Even Worse

Klein received a letter from Cyril delivered by Edefana, an Ancient Dragon whose Chaos Sea corruption made him dangerously hostile toward Klein. As Cyril continued his work in Bansy Harbor, Peer told Elena about his rescue, Elland reconsidered Cyril’s abilities, and Cyril painted Deep Blue Church while discussing the Storm and Eternal Blazing Sun.

  • Klein sensed suffocating malice, confirmed it had passed, and used divination to check the illustrated letter Cyril had sent.
  • Edefana told Cyril that the Evernight Goddess’s gaze had stopped him from harming Klein, warned him to keep Sefirah Castle-related matters away, and named several places and beings with strong Chaos Sea remnants.
  • Cyril met Klein above the Gray Fog, apologized for Edefana’s behavior, explained the messenger’s identity, and clarified that the letter’s drawings represented crushed Bansy specialties; he also recorded Beyonder Abilities from Klein’s demonstration.
  • Peer excitedly told Elena that Cyril had rescued him from monsters and described Cyril’s powerful abilities, while Elland reflected on Cyril’s influence over memories and worried about Bansy Harbor.
  • Cyril painted Deep Blue Church in Bansy Harbor and told onlookers that a stormy depiction suited the Storm, while a local affirmed his loyalty to the Storm and sea.

Ch. 248The Telegraph Office

Cyril painted the Deep Blue Church and then visited the telegraph office, where True Vision revealed a disturbing distortion around its staff. He left a prophetic painting of Pavo and Melanie that suggested a dangerous presence or consciousness was emerging.

  • Cyril recognized Captain Nicolo, explained his painting of the Deep Blue Church, and pinned it to a noticeboard near the square.
  • Cyril saw the telegraph office staff distorted and entwined under True Vision, then heeded his intuition and looked away.
  • Melanie told Cyril the telegraph machine was broken, while Pavo admitted he might not be able to repair it soon.
  • Cyril asked permission to paint the telegraph office’s daily scene, and Melanie and Pavo agreed.
  • Cyril finished a painting in which the shadows of Pavo and Melanie stretched into a figure on the wall, hinting at a lurking presence or a new dangerous consciousness.

Ch. 249That's Just Wonderful!

Cyril investigated the Bansy Harbor telegraph office and concluded its strange behavior might be connected to the City of Calamity. With Edefana’s help, he traveled to Backlund to have Father Utravsky Record another Beyonder Ability.

  • Cyril gave Melanie his painting and left before Pavo repaired the telegraph machine, which began working moments later.
  • Cyril’s Divination failed, leading him to suspect the telegraph office’s trouble was related to the City of Calamity, and he considered investigating it that night.
  • Cyril summoned Edefana with a Mystical Harmonica and asked him to deliver him to the Harvest Cathedral in Backlund.
  • Edefana created a Randolph Carter doppelganger and explained that Cyril could share its acting progress only if he reclaimed it in time.
  • Edefana and Cyril traveled through the dream world to Backlund, where Cyril asked Father Utravsky to Record another Beyonder Ability.

Ch. 250The Altered Telegraph Office

Cyril investigated the strange storm in Bansy Harbor and entered the Mirror World behind the telegraph office, where a blood-soaked face and a mass of bodies attacked him. He escaped the grasping blood and shadows with Sun-domain abilities, but the Mirror World began to crack around him.

  • Randolph Carter showed Cyril a painting of the storm with blood-red lightning and described how it had been nurturing people’s buried desires and emotions.
  • Cyril concluded that the storm was connected to the cultists’ bloody sacrifices, the God of Weather, and Adam, then traveled through the Mirror World to the telegraph office.
  • A blood-soaked face and spine appeared beyond the office window, while Melanie and Pavo spoke to Cyril from the darkness and a severed hand tapped the telegraph machine.
  • Cyril illuminated the office and saw scattered body parts as blood and shadows surged through the window and trapped him inside a rust-stained Mirror World.
  • Cyril used Sun-domain light and Flaming Jump to escape the mass, but a sudden impact shattered the Mirror World with web-like cracks.

Ch. 251Traditions of the Church of Storms

Cyril escaped a collapsing Mirror World, destroyed the mutated monster formed from Pavo and Melanie, and fled before the Deep Blue Church bishop could catch him. He then discovered that rust-red contamination had spread through the Mirror Worlds across Bansy Harbor and the island, possibly because the City of Calamity had begun exerting its influence.

  • Cyril escaped into the telegraph office as the Mirror World collapsed, shattering the office’s reflective surfaces.
  • A stitched monster attacked Cyril, but he used the Storm of Light to slice it apart and burned its remains with golden flames.
  • The Deep Blue Church bishop arrived too late, and Cyril mocked him before escaping with Flash.
  • The bishop resolved to find Cyril, use him against the church’s Mandated Punishers, and sacrifice him to the God of Weather.
  • Cyril returned to the Mirror World and found rust-red contamination affecting the Mirror Worlds across Bansy Harbor and the island.

Ch. 252A Sham Ritual

Cyril used a sham ritual to retrieve the Red Priest card from above the Gray Fog, then followed its resonance through the Mirror World toward the source of the influence affecting Bansy Harbor. He arrived in a bizarre modern city, where its headless inhabitants turned to stare at the card.

  • Cyril prayed to the Fool, and Klein sent a Paper Angel to protect him from the Mirror World's red influence.
  • Cyril explained that he needed the Red Priest card to locate the source of the pollution, then conjured a fake ritual with Fantasy made real.
  • Cyril performed the ritual and received the Red Priest card; he interrupted the ritual without properly closing it, drawing Klein's complaint.
  • Cyril activated the card and sensed two nearby High Sequence presences; a malicious gaze targeted him, but Klein's Paper Angel shielded him.
  • Cyril traveled through several illusory doors in the Mirror World and reached a strange modern city filled with headless people, who stared at the Red Priest card.

Ch. 253People in Big Cities Are So Cold...

Cyril escaped a collapsing Mirror World into a ritual site on Bansy Island, where an unknown power attacked him and disrupted his abilities. He returned to the Mirror World to evade the assault, and Klein saw a hole in its dark sky revealing the gray-white mist beyond.

  • Klein warned Cyril and Cyril escaped the collapsing Mirror World through a mirror into an abandoned cabin on Bansy Island, where God of Weather cultists were performing a ritual.
  • Cyril used a recorded gale to scatter the cultists and discovered that the cabin stood at the center of a vortex-shaped forest, but a blood-red lightning bolt made him lose control and redirected his Flash.
  • Two towering Angels appeared as a high-level power interfered with Klein's gaze and Cyril's abilities; Cyril's attempt to Teleport failed, and blazing-white spears engulfed the cabin in fire.
  • Cyril returned to the Mirror World, greeted the heads aboard a trolleybus, then Flash-ed across the street after they ignored him.
  • Klein regained contact with Cyril and asked why he had returned; Cyril pointed out a hole in the Mirror World's dark sky, through which Klein saw the gray-white mist.

Ch. 254Dangerous Man

Cyril escaped the Mirror World and slaughtered the God of Weather’s followers before confronting the Deep Blue Church’s bishop. As the bishop changed into a weapon-like figure and a dark vortex drew them in, Cyril suspected the God of Weather was trapped in the Mirror World.

  • Cyril met a charming woman in a rickshaw in the Mirror World, but fled when cracks spread across it.
  • Cyril emerged from the burned hut, blinded the God of Weather’s followers, and killed them with gunfire and dawnlight.
  • The Deep Blue Church’s bishop attacked Cyril with flaming wind blades and fireballs, but Cyril’s altered body let the attacks pass through him.
  • Cyril taunted the bishop and sensed the God of Weather’s presence, suspecting it was trapped in the Mirror World and using blood sacrifices to escape.
  • Dark mist formed a vortex around Cyril and the bishop, while the bishop transformed into a savage, weapon-like figure.

Ch. 255Monocle

Cyril fought the Deep Blue Church bishop while pollution from the God of Weather and the City of Calamity threatened to overwhelm him. After the bishop’s offer to trade was rejected, a charred corpse wearing a monocle revealed Amon’s presence and greeted Mr. Fool, who severed his connection to Cyril.

  • The bishop’s attack and the combined pollution nearly drove Cyril from his dimension, but a silver-winged Angel rewound events and Klein warned him to run if he could not win.
  • Cyril used Long-range Bombardment, Mental Piercing, Air Bullets, and paper knives to damage the bishop and destroy the forest’s ritual effects.
  • The bishop split into flames and escaped Cyril’s attacks while the God of Weather watched from somewhere nearby.
  • A charred corpse offered Cyril a trade and demanded that he leave, but Cyril put on a monocle and refused, causing the corpse to lose its strange properties and shatter.
  • Another charred corpse rose wearing a monocle, greeted Mr. Fool, and prompted Klein to cut off his connection to Cyril.
  • The corpse mocked Cyril by saying that Mr. Fool had abandoned him and run away.

Ch. 256The Card of Blasphemy's Changes

Cyril defeated Amon’s avatar with Hermes’s help, then searched for the missing mirror and found another way into the strange Mirror World. There, the Red Priest card revealed new information about the Above the Sequence, and Cyril suspected the City of Calamity had transmitted it through their connection.

  • Cyril cut down Amon’s avatar after Hermes concealed himself and affected Amon, and Hermes warned Cyril against imitating Amon with a monocle.
  • Cyril contacted Klein, who confirmed he could not see clearly through the interference and advised Cyril to use the Red Priest card another time.
  • Cyril searched the burned hut for the Mirror World mirror but found nothing, and he suspected Amon had stolen it.
  • Cyril used the Red Priest card and Crystal Ball to sense two bright stars, then meditated until he recovered some Spirituality.
  • Cyril formed an ice door that led into the Mirror World and entered a deeper part of it.
  • Cyril discovered that the Red Priest card now listed the ingredients and advancement method for the Potions of Calamity of Destruction and Origins of Disaster.

Ch. 257God of Weather (I split up the extra content and put it into these three chapters)

Cyril encountered the bound, corrupted God of Weather in Bansy’s Mirror World and became linked to him after accepting the Red Priest card’s payment. Back in Backlund, Cyril explained his theory about the City of Calamity’s influence on Bansy Island to Adam.

  • Cyril followed the Red Priest card’s pull to a plaza, where the qipao-clad young woman urged him to help someone named Tobias.
  • Cyril saw a chained giant on a stele, learned the Weather Warlock Sequence 2 formula, and heard the giant plead to be killed and Bansy destroyed.
  • The young woman said the giant would cling to Cyril through the connection created by his payment, then restored Cyril’s Door Opening ability so he could leave the Mirror World.
  • In Tiana Port, Elland sent Randolph Carter’s portrait and information to Bayam and decided to visit the local Storm Church about the blood sacrifice.
  • Back in Backlund, Cyril met Adam in the Corpse Cathedral and described how the City of Calamity’s corruption might be affecting Bansy Island and its God of Weather.

Ch. 258Amon and Adam

Cyril completed the first stage of Adam’s mission and arranged a chance to obtain a Conqueror Beyonder Characteristic, while Amon tried to bargain with Adam for information about the City of Calamity. Later, Owen, Lawrence, and Verdu discussed surviving the full moon and the Abraham Family’s need for protection, leaving Owen to continue preparing for advancement.

  • Cyril learned that the next stage of Adam’s mission was to investigate the awakened will of the City of Calamity and Chi’s stance, then asked Adam to arrange an opportunity to obtain a Conqueror Beyonder Characteristic.
  • Adam granted Cyril a Demigod-level Psychological Invisibility, and Cyril recorded the Dawn Knight ability again at Harvest Cathedral before returning home.
  • Amon offered Adam the City of Calamity in exchange for help finding Pallez, but Adam only promised to reveal the relevant secrets when the era reached a critical point.
  • During the full moon, Cyril protected Owen, Lawrence, and Verdu with Black Curtains until its effects faded.
  • Owen, Lawrence, and Verdu discussed bringing their full-moon survival method to the Council of Elders and the Abraham Family’s need for a high-Sequence protector.
  • Owen explained his Clown potion progress and the materials he still needed for Magician, and Verdu offered to take him to hunt an Evil-Patterned Black Panther.

Ch. 259"Sea King"

“Sea King” Jahn Kottman arrived in Bansy Harbor and uncovered signs of serious trouble at the Church of Storms as Mandated Punishers attacked Randolph Carter. Randolph escaped with help from Cyril, while Jahn identified the fugitive as a Dream Weaver.

  • Jahn Kottman questioned the priest on duty about Bishop Miller, the bloody sacrifices, and the unreported intruder, then prayed to the Lord of Storms.
  • Randolph woke from a nightmare and discovered that Mandated Punishers had come to attack him, but he used Steve and the Painting Scroll to fend them off.
  • Hermes warned Randolph that Jahn was pursuing him and that Gade II might soon arrive to cleanse Bansy, so Randolph prepared to flee.
  • Randolph used Steve and the paintings to daze the attackers and escape to the inn’s first floor, where Cyril arrived through an Illusory Door.
  • Jahn searched the harbor, summoned lightning, and identified Randolph as a Dream Weaver.

Ch. 260The Dream

Cyril returned Randolph Carter to himself, then deliberately entered a dream with Edefana waiting for a possible visitor. In the dream, Edefana revealed a corrupted Weather Warlock in the City of Miracles, Liveseyd, who had been taken over by another consciousness and could not be saved.

  • Cyril summoned Edefana and had him merge Randolph Carter back into himself, sensing that someone had painted Randolph’s portrait near Tiana Island.
  • Cyril asked Edefana to wait in his dream for a possible guest, then activated the Red Priest card and fell asleep.
  • Cyril became trapped in a burning red dream before a bloodied Flame Giant called for him to come and kill it.
  • A Great Dragon’s roar transformed the scene into the City of Miracles, Liveseyd, where numerous Great Dragons gathered around the Flame Giant.
  • Edefana arrived in his Great Dragon form and explained that the Flame Giant was a corrupted Weather Warlock whose body, mind, and Beyonder Characteristic had been taken over, leaving him beyond saving.

Ch. 261Conversation

Cyril negotiated with the corrupted God of Weather, who agreed to surrender his identity and power in exchange for a chance at salvation and a temporary loss of freedom. Edefana brought Cyril into the God of Weather’s dream to bargain with the hostile consciousness within him, where the dream’s heat intensified before Edefana’s roar calmed it.

  • The Flame Giant accepted Cyril’s terms, including giving up his God of Weather identity, angelic status, and power, and serving for about fourteen or fifteen years.
  • Edefana explained that separating the God of Weather’s consciousness would be very dangerous, so Cyril decided to seek an agreement with the other consciousness in the God of Weather’s dream.
  • Edefana carried Cyril through a fantastical ocean of lights and into the God of Weather’s scorched, ruined dream.
  • Cyril walked through a plaza of ancient gravestones and found the Terror Giant chained above a dark lake, facing a twisted reflection that claimed to be him.
  • Cyril warned the Terror Giant that the Lord of Storms and the pope from Pasu Island would soon threaten Bansy Island, but the Terror Giant accused him of making a threat and made the dream boil with heat.
  • Edefana roared, and the boiling dream gradually calmed.
