Las Noches!
Deep in the silent hall, Aizen Sosuke sat before a stone table, propping his face up with one hand as he looked at the small dominoes scattered across it.
They were small dominoes, each less than ten centimeters long and wide. The dominoes themselves were nothing special; what was special were the names on them!
The names of all the remaining captain-level figures in the Gotei 13—Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto, Shunsui Kyoraku, Ukitake Jushiro, and the rest—had been carved onto these modest little dominoes!
There were also words carved on the back of each domino. For example, the back of Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto's domino bore a few words: a name... Wonderweiss Margela.
Almost every domino had its own inscription on the back. Some bore names, while others contained information about Bankai!
The dominoes did not just bear the names of the Gotei 13's captains. Hirako Shinji and the other Visored, even Kurosaki Isshin and others, were represented among them.
But three dominoes stood out in red. The largest bore the four characters for Urahara Kisuke, with eight characters inscribed on the back: "Cunning and resourceful. Stay on guard!"
The second red domino bore the name Kurosaki Ichigo, with the inscription: "A special existence. Astonishing potential!"
Aizen had left those two dominoes untouched. Instead, he picked up the last red one. It bore just two characters: Wu Biao's name!
Unlike the other two red dominoes, however, nothing had been carved on the back of this one.
Aizen gazed at the domino for a long while, then slowly rose to his feet, a smile curling at the corners of his mouth.
The smile wasn't arrogant. It was one of pure delight, like a child looking at a favorite toy.
"This is getting more and more interesting!"
Aizen Sosuke was a genius.
