Within the 4th Division, nearly everyone in Soul Society had gathered here—except Mayuri Kurotsuchi, who was still conducting research; Kenpachi Zaraki, who was lost; and Byakuya Kuchiki, who was suspected of betrayal. Even the not-yet-recovered Sajin Komamura and Hitsugaya Tōshirō were present.
The reason he was merely suspected of betrayal was that, just two nights ago, Byakuya Kuchiki had appeared and rescued the manifested Zanpakuto Senbonzakura and Madarame Ikkaku's manifested Zanpakuto Hozukimaru from Shinigami Substitute Kurosaki Ichigo.
He had also rescued their respective Zanpakuto after they had been captured by Matsumoto Rangiku and Hinamori Momo. All of this indicated... that Byakuya Kuchiki had very likely betrayed the Seireitei and chosen to aid the manifested Zanpakuto.
It could be said that, lately, the one thing they could be thankful for was the return of Hitsugaya Tōshirō's Zanpakuto. The return of Hyorinmaru, known as the strongest ice-type Zanpakuto, was unquestionably a great boon.
"Their identities have been confirmed." Soi Fon spoke in an oddly flat tone. "According to the Omnitsukido Corps' investigation and the testimony of that group, these six people are members of the Ryodoji Clan, who instigated a rebellion in Soul Society a thousand years ago!"
