The Royal Guard left, taking Renji Abarai, Byakuya Kuchiki, Kuchiki Rukia, and the others with them. According to Captain-Commander Yamamoto and the others, Kurosaki Ichigo had originally been among those meant to leave as well.
However, he was ultimately rejected by Oetsu Nimaiya. In Nimaiya's view, if Kurosaki Ichigo refused to bid farewell to his current Zanpakuto, then even if he improved, he would find it difficult to reach his peak.

There, Kurosaki Isshin, dressed in a Shihakusho, leaned against the doorway. When he noticed Ichigo looking at him, he smiled faintly. "Although I don't think you're making the right choice, since it's the one you chose, then go and do it!"
"That's right, our Ichigo is the strongest!" Kurosaki Masaki said. She then ran straight to Ichigo's side
