Nearly half of City W had now been destroyed. The thick, gigantic centipede had demolished countless high-rises merely by writhing and crawling, and even the slightest movement of its body made the earth quake.
This centipede clearly was not destroying a city for the first time. As it writhed, it smashed one high-rise after another with practiced ease. At the top of its enormous head was a human face, though it looked somewhat different—as if a head had opened its mouth and bitten down on another head.
Layer upon layer, there were actually three human faces visible. Aside from the first face, however, only the eyes, noses, and chins of the other two could be seen!
The hard shell on its back gleamed like steel beneath the sunlight, making for a terrifying sight!
The number of legs on this giant centipede was even more horrifying. They covered its entire body, making it impossible to tell just how many there were.
Having just burrowed out of the ground, huge amounts of dirt streamed down from the gaps in its shell as the entire ground caved in.
"Roar—!"
The instant it appeared, Elder Centipede let out an earth-shaking roar. The dark-red eyes of the human face atop its head stared fixedly at the shelter on the outskirts of City W, filled with eerily human mockery, brutality, and savagery...
"This thing is way too huge! I've never seen a monster this size before!"
To Elder Centipede's left, hidden behind a high-rise, three people stood watching the centipede as its body completely occupied the street. Their faces were filled with horror.
