"The eighteen contestants have now all been introduced. The eighteenth Super Fight now... begins!!"
After the introductions, the many contestants made their appearances one by one before dispersing. Some stayed behind to watch, while others turned and headed back to the waiting rooms.
However, two people stepped onto the ring: Bang and another contestant from the comeback seed team.
They were the people the tournament organizers intended to eliminate in the first round. No one cared which of the two would win, because no one believed either of them could pull off an upset against the founder of Kudo Style, the champion of previous tournaments.
Yet this first match turned out to be rather unexpected!
The two fighters took their positions. Bang stood with his hands behind his back and gave his opponent a faint smile.
His opponent was far less polite. He shot Bang a cold glare and snorted. "Old man, get lost while you still can. Otherwise, if I throw this punch, you might die."
"Heh heh."
Bang merely smiled again.
The burly man who had been talking tough frowned, feeling intensely annoyed. There was no disdain in that laugh. Instead, it felt like Bang was watching a child throw a tantrum...
How could that possibly sit well with him?
Quite a few contestants below the ring curled their lips.
"That big guy sure is lucky. He got matched against a frail-looking old man in the first round. Though even if he wins this round, he'll still lose to one of the favored contenders."
Wild Boar Assault Fist's Zakos spoke sourly. After entering so many tournaments, he had never once won his opening match... and had therefore been thrown into this deeply ironic comeback seed team.
"What, you're jealous already?"
Lightning Fist's Boulden wore a mocking grin
