There was a trace of anxiety in Falk's tone, but even more of a businessman's shrewdness.
"Nike has already started building hype. They want to use Jordan's outburst to suppress the popularity of our 'The Answer' line. That old bastard Phil Knight is even preparing a marketing campaign for 'Return of God.'"
Li Fei took a sip of coffee, feeling the bitterness spread across his tongue.

"As for Nike... when I personally send the Bulls home in the Finals or the Eastern Conference Finals, their marketing campaign will become nothing but wastepaper."
Li Fei rose to his feet and walked to the edge of the balcony, looking down at the streets of Manhattan below.
"How's the investigation into Arvydas going?"
Falk fell silent for a moment before lowering his voice.
"Not good. Layden really has been in contact with the Nuggets, and he's been meeting privately with the agents of several free agents. That guy Van Gundy has already been quietly cutting Sabonis's role from your playbook."
"They think Arvydas is dead weight. They want to dump him the moment they win the championship, and they might even find a replacement before the season ends so they can drive down his price in contract extension negotiations."
Li Fei sneered. His hand tightened slightly around the railing, his knuckles turning pale from the force.
"They want to burn the bridge after crossing it?"
