The Invasion supervisor, Nakata Satoshi, had yet to open the newly delivered storyboards for episode eleven. He simply stared at the cover, his expression complicated.

Zhu Chi, standing beside him, found his reaction hard to suppress a laugh at. She patted him on the shoulder and said, "Supervisor, what's done is done. Hurry up and approve them. They want our reply as soon as possible so they can get started. Don't worry about quality; I won't half-ass it. I'll prioritize checking the key animation for this outsourced episode."

Zhu Chi was Invasion's chief animation director. She didn't particularly mind outsourcing the episode, but the extra workload still annoyed her. As she'd said, though, what was done was done. There was no going back, so all she could do was her best.

Nakata Satoshi sighed, shifted his heavy body, sat up straight, and opened the storyboards to take a look.

He studied them carefully.

Ten minutes later, he closed the storyboard book.

The storyboards hadn't disappointed him too much. He'd been afraid the other team would make a mess of them.

The dialogue-heavy first half was average, but the fight scenes in the latter half were pretty daring, and looked quite good. There were a few places where they seemed to have cut corners, especially the sequence of dodging missiles, which felt rather lifeless. But this was a mecha show, so the other team's approach was understandable.

His daughter should be safe...

"Hmm, surprisingly decent." After looking through the whole storyboard book, supervisor Nakata Satoshi didn't have any particular ideas yet. He thought it was all right, so he handed the storyboards to chief animation director Zhu Chi.
