Shinjuku, Kyoto.
Kambara Kota sent Premiere (video editing software) to the status bar and stretched.
"Finally, it's done." While the video rendered, Kambara Kota opened his browser, ready to unwind.
Kambara Kota was a video uploader and an animation enthusiast. He usually shared animation he thought was worth watching on a certain video site whose name started with the letter B. With his extensive experience, he could usually tell at a glance who had animated a scene, and he could explain exactly what made it good. His popularity had gradually grown, and he'd soon amassed hundreds of thousands of followers, becoming somewhat well-known.
What he'd just finished was a compilation of the previous month's outstanding animation.
The video was much later than usual, almost half a month late. Kambara Kota hadn't wanted to put it off this long, but there was one sequence he really couldn't identify. He'd considered several animators, but none seemed right.
Still, he didn't want to give up, because the sequence he couldn't identify was absolutely at the level of the year's best animation.
That sequence was the climactic battle in the final episode of Ore-sama...
So who the hell was Gu Xue, the name listed as the lead animator?!
Kambara Kota had asked himself that in frustration more than once.
It wasn't that he didn't want to simply credit Gu Xue by name. It was just that, no matter how he looked at it, that had to be an alias!
Not one of the outstanding animators currently capable of drawing something like this was named Gu Xue!
That distinctly girlish name was obviously something some old-timer had made up after accepting a Restraint Fee and being unable to use his real name!
As for the possibility that the lead animator really was named Gu Xue
