Background

Before joining Snakehead Company, Chisa worked at 3.C PICTURE. During the production of Falling Feathers, she volunteered as the production assistant for its final episode. When the episode collapsed, director Narita Kei and other staff shifted the blame onto her; she was scapegoated, slapped, suppressed, and harassed despite trying to prove herself through hard work. The experience left her distrustful of creators’ promises and fearful of again being abandoned near a deadline. 14 18 412 528

She later transferred to Snakehead Company and became a production manager. Her rigid control over schedules and progress initially made her feared by staff, but she consistently treated delivery and production quality as her responsibility. 9 29

Chisa first appears at a meeting for the final episode of Ore-sama. She reprimands Gu Xue for bypassing the production assistant when submitting key frames, immediately establishing herself as an intimidating production manager. 9

Though skeptical of Gu Xue’s ability to complete difficult work on time, Chisa protects her from unreasonable demands, provides fight-reference videos and a computer, and ensures that Gu Xue’s work reaches the animation director. 11 15 18

Rain Crisis and Relearning Trust

When rain ruins six full cuts of key animation, Chisa desperately searches for replacements but initially refuses help due to pride and her inability to trust others. 22 She returns to the office soaked, exhausted, and emotionally overwhelmed; Gu Xue helps her dry off, offers assistance, and challenges Chisa’s belief that everyone will disappoint her. 23 25 26
