There was no way she could even think about such a thing. She didn't want to stay here another second.

A few minutes later, Nakano and Kushida walked together from the shadows into the light.
They walked one behind the other beneath the streetlights, then headed back to the dorms.
But neither of them said a word, even after they reached the dormitory building.
Nakano knew Kushida was angry, and she'd taken a serious loss tonight.

Man, women really are terrifying. But he couldn't deny it: Kushida was amazing!
So Nakano returned to his dorm room, more or less satisfied.
He didn't go straight to bed, though. Instead, he pulled out his phone.
"Is this Chabashira-sensei?"
Nakano was making a call. Unlike the first time he'd called, Chabashira didn't pick up right away. Several seconds passed.
Chabashira had once seen him as the hope of Class D, someone who could lead the class to the top. She was bound to keep an eye on him.
But she'd learned not to get impatient. That meant she must have caught on to what he was thinking. He had no interest in Class D, and he wouldn't lift a finger for them, even if it meant a chance to move up a class.
So.
"What do you want?"
Chabashira Sae's voice came through the phone, calm and cool.
"I'd like to know the written entrance-exam scores of the students in my class."
Nakano said.
As a meticulous man, Nakano hadn't let himself get carried away by Kushida's charms. After all, even pressing their handprints together was just that—pressing their handprints together.
It wasn't enough to make him lose himself in bliss.
