Suzune enters Class D with a cold, dismissive attitude toward Takeda Eito and Ayanokoji Kiyotaka. She explicitly frames her dislike of Eito as personal rather than prejudice, refusing to entertain unnecessary social contact. 2 4

Her older brother, Horikita Manabu, is the Student Council President. Suzune’s guarded demeanor visibly falters when he appears at the club orientation, revealing anxiety, hope, and a strong desire for his recognition. 8 36

Suzune begins the school year isolated from her classmates and openly hostile toward Eito. She nevertheless attends the club orientation after learning Manabu may appear, exposing how deeply his opinion matters to her. 4 7 8

Eito lends her Pride and Prejudice and repeatedly attempts to use her first name. Suzune accepts the book but refuses the familiarity, saying she may reconsider only after she acknowledges him. 10

Building Trust with Eito

Suzune later invites Eito to the school café, returns his book, and says she will try to view him without prejudice, while clearly stating that she will not fall in love with him. 13

After Class D’s point total collapses, Suzune asks Eito to help bring Sudo, Yamauchi, and Ike to a study session. Eito subsequently defeats Sudo with unexplained speed, making Suzune wary of what he is concealing. 15 16

Following a shared meal, Suzune acknowledges Eito as her friend. Her trust remains conditional, however, as she becomes increasingly suspicious that he is hiding information from her. 17 24

Leadership and Island Examination

During the island examination, Suzune continues scouting independently and tries to determine Class D’s best path forward. Her isolation and difficulty connecting with others remain obstacles to her leadership ambitions. 28 34

After Eito challenges her belief that she can succeed without understanding other people, Suzune agrees to date him to learn more about him and about men. She makes clear that she will end their friendship if he lies to her. 35

Suzune accompanies Eito to scout Class B, where she observes Ichinose Honami’s united class. Although she recognizes Class B’s cohesion, she rejects the idea of simply becoming a leader like Ichinose; her goal remains to attain strength and recognition comparable to Manabu’s. 36

Later, Suzune falls ill on the island. Eito obtains medicine and arranges for Sato to assist with her care until she recovers. 41
