Ch. 385Two Issues

Wright defeated Sakazuki in their duel on Punk Hazard, healed him, and returned to Rosinante's warship. At Marineford, the Marines confirmed Wright as the next Fleet Admiral candidate and began discussing who should fill the expanded Admiral ranks.

  • Wright found Sakazuki badly wounded at the crater's edge after their final clash and reset his broken arm before healing his injuries with Holy Light.
  • Sakazuki told Wright they would publicly maintain the appearance of fighting over conflicting ideals, then left to arrange his own pickup.
  • Wright flew back to Rosinante's warship, where the Marines congratulated him, and Rosinante called Smoker back from filming the duel.
  • Sengoku told the Marine leaders that Wright had defeated Sakazuki and asked whether anyone objected to Wright becoming the next Fleet Admiral candidate; everyone agreed.
  • Sengoku raised the selection of new Admirals, and Gion withdrew while explaining that she and Tokikake lacked the strength and public recognition of the current Admirals.

Ch. 386New Marine Admiral

Sengoku and the Marine high command unanimously chose Issho to fill an admiral position after Gion and Tokikake declined. Wright told Issho the promotion was effectively settled, and the group began discussing what his admiral epithet should be.

  • Gion and Tokikake declined the admiral positions, so Tokikake proposed Issho as a candidate.
  • Tsuru, Garp, Zephyr, Kuzan, Borsalino, and Gion supported Issho, and Sengoku announced his exceptional promotion to Marine Headquarters Admiral.
  • At the G-5 Branch, Wright told Issho that headquarters had approved his promotion, and Issho wondered whether a civilian could rise directly to admiral.
  • Wright explained that the Marines needed to fill the admiral seats and that Issho's strength, reputation, connections, and achievements made him a clear choice.
  • Ace asked about Issho's admiral epithet, while Cavendish and Rosinante discussed possible naming conventions and Smoker mocked the existing animal codenames.

Ch. 387The Marines' Cheat Code

After the Summit War, Issho accepted the admiral title Fujitora, while Koby woke from a two-week coma with newly awakened Observation Haki and sought out Wright. Koby told Wright that he wanted to follow his justice.

  • Wright proposed the name Fujitora for Issho, who gladly accepted it as his new admiral title.
  • Wright returned to Marineford to report Issho’s appointment while the Marines repaired the war-damaged headquarters and prepared for the Fleet Admiral transition.
  • Koby awoke after two weeks in the hospital and learned that he had awakened Observation Haki by sensing the voices of those dying in battle.
  • Koby asked Bellamy whether Wright was at headquarters, then went to meet Wright in his office.
  • Koby told Wright, the next Fleet Admiral, that he wanted to follow his justice, surprising Wright.

Ch. 388The Straw Hat Pirates' Promise

Koby declared his dream of becoming an Admiral to Wright, who urged him to discover his own justice and warned that Luffy’s crew would shake the world in two years. Meanwhile, Hancock and Rayleigh arranged Luffy’s training and a cryptic public message for his scattered crewmates, while Mihawk agreed to train Zoro.

  • Wright explained to Koby that each Marine had a personal form of justice, and Koby admitted that he intended to become an Admiral.
  • Wright encouraged Koby to understand his own convictions and told him that Luffy’s group would begin stirring up the world in two years.
  • Hancock allowed Rayleigh to train Luffy on Ruskaina Island and revealed Wright’s Den Den Mushi connection to the World Economic Journal’s VIP service.
  • Hancock, Rayleigh, and Luffy decided to publish a cryptic statement so Luffy’s scattered companions could learn about his two-year training period.
  • Mihawk compared Zoro with his senior sister, ordered Perona to treat him, and agreed to train him so he could keep pace with her.

Ch. 389An Alternative 3D2Y

The Straw Hat crew members scattered across the world continued training after seeing Luffy’s newspaper message. They each committed to growing stronger before reuniting, while Robin traveled to meet Dragon and join the Revolutionary Army.

  • Brook read the Straw Hat Pirates’ “3D(X)2Y” message in the newspaper and tried to train on Sword Mountain Island.
  • Nami persuaded Haredas to teach her about Weather Eggs so she could help her crewmates and prepare for Kuina’s Float-Float Fruit.
  • Chopper explored Bird Kingdom’s vast library and resolved to combine its medical knowledge with Doctorine’s teachings and Germa technology.
  • Sanji accepted Ivankov’s challenge to master the 99 Vitality Menu and vowed to survive Kamabakka Kingdom’s training.
  • Franky discovered Vegapunk’s youthful inventions in Balgimoa and resolved to improve the Thousand Sunny for the New World.
  • Usopp asked Heracles’n to train him on Boin Archipelago, while Robin headed to Baltigo to meet Dragon and support the Revolutionary Army.

Ch. 390Uncle and Nephew Reunited

Sabo and Koala came to Sabaody to help protect Luffy’s ship, where Sabo was reunited with his uncle, Admiral Wright. Wright revealed that he had come to find Sabo because he knew Sabo would be there, and reassured him about Kuma.

  • Shakky and the others guarded the Thousand Sunny as pirates targeted it, until Sabo and Koala arrived and Sabo offered to protect the ship.
  • Shakky warned Sabo that the Marines might discover him, but Wright entered the bar and startled Sabo and Koala.
  • Sabo called Wright “Uncle,” shocking Koala and Shakky, then asked whether Wright had deliberately let him escape at Impel Down.
  • Wright praised Sabo for keeping their relationship secret, teased him about Koala, and explained that he had come to Sabaody to find him.
  • Sabo asked about Kuma, and Wright said Kuma and Ivankov had watched over Dragon after Dragon saved Sabo.

Ch. 391I Approve of This!

Wright reassured Sabo about Kuma and gave Sabo and Koala powerful Devil Fruits to help them grow stronger. Sabo ate the Tremor-Tremor Fruit, while Koala accepted the Gas Fruit as a gift from Wright.

  • Wright told Sabo that Kuma’s consciousness was intact and explained why Kuma could not safely guard Luffy’s ship in person.
  • Sabo vowed to protect Luffy and insisted that guarding the ship would not stop him from training.
  • Wright warned Sabo that Ace had not fought at full strength and could already control White Flame.
  • Wright gave Sabo the Paramecia Tremor-Tremor Fruit, and Sabo ate it despite its terrible taste.
  • Wright gave Koala the Logia Gas Fruit, and she accepted it while Sabo teased her about calling Wright her uncle.

Ch. 392Sakazuki's Change

Koala ate the Gas Fruit while Wright entrusted her and Sabo to Shakky before leaving. At Marine Headquarters, Sakazuki discussed the Marines’ growing resistance to the World Government with Sengoku and agreed to train the soldiers to fight without relying on Wright’s healing.

  • Koala ate the Gas Fruit and discovered she could transform into gas and fly.
  • Wright asked Shakky to look after Sabo and Koala, and told them the next two years would be difficult but worthwhile.
  • Sabo and Koala talked with Shakky after Wright left, while Shakky recalled a dead old man as she watched them.
  • Sakazuki met with Sengoku after returning from Punk Hazard, and Sengoku acknowledged that he had convincingly maintained the appearance of discord with Wright.
  • Sakazuki criticized the World Government and warned that the Marines’ soldiers could become dependent on Wright’s healing ability.
  • Sengoku appointed Sakazuki to train the Marines in military discipline, and Sakazuki accepted.

Ch. 393Power Shifts in the New World

The Marines, Kaido, and Big Mom adjusted their plans after Whitebeard’s death reshaped the New World’s balance of power. Kaido prepared to strengthen his forces, while Big Mom ordered a scheme to seize Fish-Man Marines and ransom them for Fish-Man Island’s sweets.

  • The Marines secured about one-third of Whitebeard’s former territory, while Marco’s remnants and the other Emperors held the rest.
  • Kaido learned that King had been unable to defeat Issho and resolved to gather Devil Fruits, recruit Supernovas, and train his forces under Drake’s guidance.
  • Big Mom learned that the Marines protected Fish-Man Island and that Jinbe had refused to return it to her protection.
  • Big Mom ordered her forces to target Fish-Man Marines and capture them as leverage to demand Fish-Man Island’s sweets from the Marines.

Ch. 394Marine Fleet Admiral Wright

Wright recruited Rob Lucci and the other former CP9 agents as Marine secret agents, offering them a chance to investigate the World Government’s secrets. At the new year, Wright became Fleet Admiral and Issho became an Admiral, while Wright reshaped the Marines’ priorities and gave Cipher Pol more responsibility.

  • Wright confronted Lucci and the former CP9 agents, then offered them a choice between death and becoming Marine secret agents.
  • Lucci accepted Wright’s offer, drawn by the chance to take revenge on Spandam and uncover the truth about the so-called gods.
  • At the new year ceremony, Wright was promoted to Fleet Admiral and Issho was promoted to Admiral.
  • Sengoku retired as Fleet Admiral and adopted a carefree new lifestyle as Chief Inspector.
  • Wright made carrying out justice the Marines’ foremost concern and shifted much of the dirty work to Cipher Pol.

Ch. 395Development of the New Era

Fleet Admiral Wright welcomed Commodore Ain back and outlined how the Marines’ forces and bases had expanded under his leadership. The Marines prepared to secure their New World holdings and target Donquixote Doflamingo once the Dressrosa royal family could speak out.

  • Wright welcomed Ain back to Marine Headquarters and asked her to serve as chief of staff for the Marines’ special legions.
  • Wright reviewed the forces and projects taking shape, including Kuina’s Azure Sky Song legion, Jinbe’s underwater force, and the restoration of Noah.
  • Tashigi assisted Hina at G-10 while Smoker and T-Bone guarded the newly established G-11 Branch, and Cavendish advanced as a Marine swordsman.
  • Issho led the Marine Science Unit, Borsalino was stationed at Mary Geoise, and Sakazuki and Kuzan helped strengthen Marine forces and discipline.
  • Rosinante continued gathering intelligence as the Marines prepared to pursue Donquixote Doflamingo, waiting for the Dressrosa royal family to speak out.

Ch. 396Rocky Port Incident

Trafalgar Law prepared to turn himself from a pirate informant into an official Marine ally by staging the Rocky Port Incident. He gathered more than a hundred high-bounty pirates and used his Op-Op Fruit to defeat them as Ace and Koby arrived, leaving Ace to confront him.

  • Rosinante informed Wright that Law had finished preparing his plan, and Wright ordered a large operation that would protect civilians.
  • Wright and Rosinante chose Ace, Koby, and Cavendish for the operation, with Ace and Koby set to go to Rocky Port.
  • Law lured more than a hundred high-bounty pirates to Rocky Port under the pretense of expanding his crew and recruiting men.
  • When Ace arrived with Marines, Law used ROOM and Scalpel to remove the pirates’ hearts and incapacitate them.
  • Ace told Koby to protect the civilians and prepared to confront Law himself.

Ch. 397Law of the Shichibukai

Trafalgar Law used the Rocky Port Incident to secure a place among the Shichibukai, then established a base on Punk Hazard to help Rosinante gather intelligence on Doflamingo. Meanwhile, Urouge and the Fallen Monk Pirates sailed toward Thunder God Island to seek out Enel.

  • Law used his powers to take the hearts of one hundred pirates, then fought Ace to demonstrate his strength as a candidate for the Shichibukai.
  • Wright submitted Law’s application to the World Government and arranged for Kuzan to keep the hearts until the government decided what to do with them.
  • The World Government accepted Law’s surrender, named him a Shichibukai with a bounty of 440 million Beli, and gave him Punk Hazard as his base.
  • Law used his new position and base to help Rosinante handle intelligence on Doflamingo, while Thunder God Island and Punk Hazard surrounded the G-5 Branch.
  • Urouge and the Fallen Monk Pirates sailed into the waters around Thunder God Island and planned to meet Enel and ask about the legend of Vearth.

Ch. 398"Strange Monk" Urouge

Urouge and the Fallen Monk Pirates reached Thunder God Island and met Enel in his Divine Palace. Urouge asked Enel about Vearth and challenged him to show the difference in strength between a Sky Island warrior and a Shichibukai.

  • Urouge and the Fallen Monk Pirates landed on Thunder God Island and used special umbrellas to cross its constant lightning rain.
  • Enel welcomed the crew to his Divine Palace after learning through Observation Haki that they were fellow Sky Islanders.
  • Urouge explained that he had come to learn whether Enel had any clues about Vearth.
  • Urouge asked Enel to demonstrate the gap between his strength and that of a Shichibukai.

Ch. 399One of Us?

Enel challenged Urouge to prove his strength in exchange for information about Vearth, then consulted Wright about recruiting him and revealing part of the truth about the moon. Wright also told Enel that Trafalgar Law had become a Shichibukai and was one of their allies, while Enel complained that most of the Shichibukai were already connected to Wright.

  • Enel told Urouge he knew Vearth’s secrets and had already reached it, then offered to share information if Urouge proved his combat strength.
  • Urouge accepted Enel’s challenge, and Enel arranged for him and his companions to eat before the fight.
  • Enel called Wright, who suggested revealing part of the moon’s truth to Urouge and inviting him to join them if his strength was sufficient.
  • Wright told Enel that Trafalgar Law had become a Shichibukai and was one of their allies.
  • Enel complained that six of the seven Shichibukai were connected to Wright, while Wright said Doflamingo would be removed but denied planning to replace him with one of their own.

Ch. 400Former CP9

Enel defeated Urouge and recognized his potential, while Rob Lucci and his former CP9 companions prepared for a mission against Spandam. They set out convinced that Rosinante’s Donquixote identity connected him to the secrets of the “gods,” and Rosinante arrived to see them off.

  • Enel used Physical Persuasion and Electric Therapy to beat Urouge, then assessed his fighting ability and potential.
  • Rob Lucci, Kaku, Jabura, Blueno, and Kalifa left the G-5 Branch training base, while Kaku and Kalifa noted that Kumadori and Fukurou had failed the test.
  • Lucci and his companions discussed using Blueno’s Door-Door Fruit for infiltration and escape, and Lucci told Jabura to control the personality changes caused by his Fruit ability.
  • Lucci and the others prepared to deal with Spandam and discussed how Rosinante’s Donquixote identity reinforced their belief that they should uncover the secrets of the “gods.”
  • Rosinante appeared to see the five former CP9 members off, and they answered his arrival by asking him to give his orders.

Ch. 401Treasure Tree Adam

Wright and Kuina discussed the Red Hair Pirates’ unexplained journey from Elbaf to Marineford and examined clues about Treasure Tree Adam. They left the tree’s purpose unresolved as Wright suggested a connection to a route to Sky Island.

  • Wright told Rosinante that Rob Lucci and the other Cipher Pol agents had left believing Wright’s revelations about the Donquixote Family and the secret of a god.
  • Kuina reported that Tashigi had used the Nine-Tailed Fox Fruit to sneak into an Elbaf village, where she learned that Shanks had gone to Treasure Tree Adam.
  • Kuina explained that the giants guarded the tree and that its immense, uniform branches made aerial reconnaissance impossible.
  • Wright concluded that Treasure Tree Adam might have a function no one understood and asked Kuina what she remembered about Gan Fall’s Summit of the West Sky route.

Ch. 402Red Hair and Elbaf

Wright theorized that Elbaf and its Treasure Tree Adam had helped Shanks rise to power and reach Marineford, then decided to investigate the Giant Kingdom himself. The chapter ended by identifying Dorry and Brogy, the former Giant Warrior Pirates captains who had been dueling on Little Garden for a century, as potential sources of information.

  • Kuina and Wright reasoned that the Summit of the West Sky was likely a route to Sky Island connected to the giants of the West Blue and Treasure Tree Adam in Elbaf.
  • Wright suspected that Shanks had used Elbaf’s support to become an Emperor and had earned the giants’ friendship or loyalty, possibly explaining the Red Hair Pirates’ rapid arrival at Marineford.
  • Wright decided to travel to Elbaf to learn how Shanks had gained the kingdom’s support.
  • The chapter described Elbaf’s gentle giants and explained that the fearsome Giant Warrior Pirates had come from its warlike Warrior Village.
  • The narration revealed that Dorry and Brogy, former captains of the Giant Warrior Pirates, were still on Little Garden after a century of dueling and were temporarily resting in a truce.

Ch. 403Red Ogre and Blue Ogre

Wright visited Little Garden and challenged Dorry and Brogy to prove he was the Fleet Admiral before asking about Elbaf. The giants revealed their reverence for Carmel Nun, whose intervention had brought peace between the Giant Tribe and humanity.

  • Wright found Dorry and Brogy dueling on Little Garden and interrupted their fight.
  • Dorry and Brogy recognized Wright as a Marine and doubted his claim to be Fleet Admiral, so Wright knocked them both away with one blow.
  • Wright asked the giants about Elbaf, and Dorry and Brogy feared the Marines planned to attack their homeland.
  • Wright explained that Carmel Nun had intervened after the Giant Warrior Pirates disbanded, helping establish peace between giants and humans.
  • Dorry and Brogy honored Carmel Nun as their benefactor and said her presence had allowed them to duel safely for a hundred years.

Ch. 404Elbaf's Upheaval

Wright told Dorry and Brogy how Charlotte Linlin’s childhood actions led to Carmel Nun’s disappearance and Elbaf’s isolation, then asked them to help him reach Elbaf to investigate its ties to Red Hair Shanks. Dorry agreed to seek the Elbaf king’s permission before Brogy escorted Wright there.

  • Wright healed Dorry and Brogy’s injuries with golden Holy Light and explained that Elbaf had once made peace with humanity and the World Government.
  • Wright revealed that five-year-old Charlotte Linlin had destroyed a village and killed Yoruru, then that Carmel Nun vanished from Lamb House on Linlin’s sixth birthday.
  • Wright explained that Elbaf closed itself off after Carmel Nun disappeared and said the Marines suspected an alliance between Elbaf and Red Hair Shanks.
  • Wright asked Dorry and Brogy to help him enter Elbaf openly and promised to defeat Charlotte Linlin without forcing the giants to break Yaruru’s promise.
  • Dorry asked for a Den Den Mushi so he could return to Elbaf and consult the king, agreeing that Brogy would take Wright there if the king approved.
